Dexter spin-off confirms return of original stars – including dead character

Dexter‘s new spin-off series has lined up the return of three original cast members.

As an avid fan, I’m thrilled to share that the acclaimed crime drama has given rise to two exciting spin-offs! The 2021 revival series, “Dexter: New Blood,” and the prequel series, “Dexter: Original Sin,” both premiered on Paramount+ last month. Can’t wait to dive back into the dark and intriguing world of Dexter!

In July, it was officially announced that a fresh continuation of the series called “Dexter: Resurrection” is on its way, and Michael C. Hall will once again play the chilling character of the notorious murderer he portrayed before.

As per Deadline’s report, David Zayas, Jack Alcott, and James Remar are all set to join the spin-off as permanent cast members.

In the upcoming storyline, Zayas will once again portray Detective Angel Batista, a character who initially debuted in the main series and later returned for “New Blood”. Meanwhile, in the same continuity, “New Blood” actor Alcott will re-emerge as Dexter’s son, Harrison Morgan.

In the meantime, Remar resumes his character as Harry Morgan, Dexter’s deceased father, who often reappeared as a spectral figure to his son, the serial killer, offering guidance during his emotional turmoil.

In the new series “New Blood,” the character you’re referring to was not present because Debra Morgan, Dexter’s foster sister and Harry’s biological child, took over Harry’s role following his death in the final season of the original show (season 8).

It appears that Harry might reappear in some form within Dexter’s thoughts, possibly taking the shape of a ghost. However, this has yet to be officially verified.

As a diehard Dexter fan, I’m thrilled to share that the much-anticipated revival, titled “Dexter: Resurrection“, kicks off its production this month and is expected to hit our screens this summer. Set in modern times, it will pick up right where “Dexter: New Blood” left off, promising an exhilarating continuation of the series we all love!

The ongoing spin-off series of the franchise, titled “Dexter: Original Sin“, traces the story of a young Dexter, portrayed by Patrick Gibson (from “Shadow and Bone” series), as his dark impulses towards violence begin to manifest.

In addition to them, you’ll find stars like Patrick Dempsey from Grey’s Anatomy, Christian Slater known for Mr Robot, singer Christina Milian, and Sarah Michelle Gellar, who was famous for Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
