Lisa Kudrow found a note from Matthew Perry inside ‘Cookie Time’ jar from Friends set
Lisa Kudrow shared that she recently found a message from her late “Friends” co-star Matthew Perry, who had hidden it within the ‘Cookie Time’ jar from the Burbank set of the popular NBC comedy series.
On the Drew Barrymore Show yesterday, I reminisced about a special moment from our final episode – when Matthew graciously handed me something, a memory that now belongs to me!
I’d just come across a note he’d written for me. I didn’t peek inside or open it up, but yes, it was there alright. I must have overlooked it somehow.
Without revealing what Perry wrote, Lisa emotionally remarked: ‘Timing is everything.’
Back in 2020, I shared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! that my dear friend and five-time Emmy nominee gave me an unforgettable gift – the fake clock prop from our show – when we wrapped up. It turned out he thought it was a good laugh that I mistook it for a real clock during filming a scene, finding it as amusing as I did!
The actor from No Good Deed responded by saying, “I believe my initial question was, ‘Was this lovely setting approved?’
‘I mean, my car used to get searched every night when I left.’
Apart from Friends wrapping up in 2004, Lisa continued to keep her security passes and Phoebe Buffay’s rings as cherished mementos.
In the year 2023, at the age of 54, Matthew tragically lost his life due to sudden complications caused by the anesthetic ketamine. Subsequently, five individuals have been arrested and are currently facing charges in connection with an ongoing Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) investigation following the incident.
Approximately two weeks after, Kudrow shared a Polaroid photo of them at the 1994 NBC Upfronts. He was thanked for his faith in her, guiding her on the values of grace and love, and making her laugh so hard that she cried ‘each day’.
It was disclosed by the San Fernando Valley Girl approximately a month ago on the Dinner’s on Me podcast that, since their television series concluded, the cast of Friends had reunited only twice – once for a private dinner in 2014 at someone’s home and again during the HBO Max special, Friends: The Reunion, in 2021.
The 49-year-old talk show host asked Lisa to provide some news about the upcoming sequel to her 1997 hit comedy, Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion, in which she starred alongside Mira Sorvino.
In my own words, I wholeheartedly agree with Mira. Our bond has never been stronger. A truly captivating script has come our way, penned by the talented Robin Schiff herself, and it’s a sight to behold.
It seems certain! What I mean is, we’ll have to wait and find out. Having a true friend means having people who care for one another deeply, which is interesting because I was part of a show that portrayed similar dynamics – although that’s the essence of it.
57-year-old Academy Award recipient shared with People magazine back in November that they have agreed on contracts for executive producing and reprising their characters as Romy White and Michele Weinberger in the upcoming sequel, which is speculated to begin filming around mid-year.
In their private life, Lisa and her spouse, Michael Stern (a renowned French advertising executive), are joyously raising their 26-year-old son Julian. They will be commemorating a remarkable 30 years of matrimony on the 27th of May.
Kudrow explained to Barrymore that it wasn’t a romantic bond, but something deeper; in fact, it transcended the boundaries of a typical family tie. Essentially, he was describing an incredibly close and intimate relationship.
By thirty, I’ve got no intentions of leaving this path; it’s not an option for me. This is my firm conviction.
