For the very first time, renowned British film director Sir Christopher Nolan received the title of Best Director following six previous nominations. Meanwhile, Irish actor Cillian Murphy was awarded Best Actor in a Drama category for his portrayal of the father of the atomic bomb.
At the upcoming event, Ted Danson, famously known from Cheers, will be honored with the Carol Burnett Award, which is given to individuals who have significantly impacted television, either in front of or behind the camera.
