3 big WWE predictions for 2025
As a veteran gamer who’s witnessed the rise and fall of countless WWE superstars, I can confidently say that 2025 is shaping up to be quite the year for the world of sports entertainment.
First off, Cody Rhodes heel turn is something I’ve been waiting for with bated breath. The American Nightmare has been playing the hero for far too long now, and it’s high time we see that twisted glint in his eye again. When he loses that championship, oh boy, hold onto your seats!
Next up, John Cena’s 17th World Championship reign. I mean, who doesn’t love a good comeback story? It’s like the WWE equivalent of Rocky Balboa getting back in the ring one more time. And let’s not forget, he’s still got it!
Lastly, the new women’s champions rising to the top. Stratton’s win was just the beginning. I’ve been following Roxanne Perez since her days in WWE NXT, and I have a feeling she’s about to make a big splash on Monday Night Raw.
Now for the joke part: If they ever decide to do a WWE game where you can play as a referee, I’d totally buy it just so I could yell “Three Count!” every time I made a sandwich at home. Because let’s face it, who doesn’t love a good WWE reference in their everyday life?
2025 has started and the action has come out hot in WWE. Tiffany Stratton cashed in the Money in the Bank briefcase on the first episode of SmackDown, getting a surprise win over Nia Jax. If that sets the tone for the year, there’s a lot that will go down. Looking ahead to the next 12 months, here are three big predictions for WWE in 2025.
Cody Rhodes heel turn begins
In simpler terms, since defeating Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 40, Cody Rhodes has been the main attraction in WWE. He’s been living up to his title as the “face of the company,” interacting warmly with fans and appearing friendly like a political candidate on the campaign trail. As long as he holds onto the Undisputed Championship, things will continue smoothly. But if he loses that title, expect to see a change in Cody Rhodes, who might reveal his more villainous side. Fans currently enjoy the good-natured Cody Rhodes, but they’re in for a surprise when he takes on the role of the top antagonist in WWE.
John Cena’s 17th World Championship
John Cena and Ric Flair share the record for the most WWE Championship reigns, and as Cena plans to retire his jorts in 2025, there’s talk of one final title run. A potential showdown between Gunther and Cena at WrestleMania 41 could be a main event that kicks off the PPV’s first night. With Gunther being a top heel and one of the most influential wrestlers currently, losing the title to Cena wouldn’t harm him. It would be exciting to see how a storyline between these two might unfold if they ever got the chance to shine in the limelight.
New Women’s Champions will rise
Stratton recently clinched their inaugural main roster championship by defeating Nia Jax. The WWE Women’s World Championship is currently being contested between Rhea Ripley and Liv Morgan, but neither will hold onto the title as we move into 2025. Instead, this year will witness the emergence of fresh talent ascending to the top of the roster, joining Stratton as newcomers claiming their first main roster titles. Keep an eye out for Roxanne Perez, who’s expected to transition from WWE NXT and secure a title on Monday Night Raw before the year concludes.
