Kelly Rowland warns fans to 'be careful' of phishing scam involving fake account of her and Beyoncé

As a devoted fan of the dynamic duo that is Kelly Rowland and Beyoncé, I can confidently say that their journey has been nothing short of extraordinary. From humble beginnings as members of Destiny’s Child to global superstars, they have captivated audiences for decades with their unmatched talent, resilience, and undeniable chemistry.

I remember the first time I heard “No, No, No” back in the late 90s, and it was love at first listen. The raw energy and harmonies of those three powerhouse vocalists were unlike anything I had ever heard before. Little did I know that this was just the beginning of an iconic career that would span over two decades.

Fast forward to today, and I’m still in awe of their accomplishments. From the Super Bowl halftime show to their individual ventures, Beyoncé and Kelly have continually shown that they are forces to be reckoned with. Their friendship has endured through thick and thin, and I can’t help but feel grateful for the memories they’ve given us.

One of my favorite moments was when they reunited on stage at Coachella in 2018 – it felt like a dream come true! And let’s not forget their support for each other over the years, from the births of their children to standing by one another through personal struggles. They truly are more than just bandmates; they are family.

I can’t help but laugh when I think about how Kelly once referred to Beyoncé as her third daughter. It speaks volumes about the bond they share and their unbreakable connection. Their friendship is a shining example of light attracting light, and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for these two incredible women.

In the end, I feel privileged to have witnessed their journey and can’t help but wonder if one day, I too will be invited to their annual slumber party! (Kidding…or am I?) 😄

Kelly Rowland warned her followers on social media about a phishing scheme that was creating false accounts pretending to be her and her close friend Beyoncé, so they wouldn’t get tricked by it.

Last Friday, the 43-year-old singer unmasked a false account claiming to be hers and Queen Bey’s, aged 43, by sharing a screenshot of a swindler’s message, which was directed at one of her fans and requested financial assistance.

A fraudster privately contacted one of their admirers under the guise: “Hi, it’s supposedly Kelly from Destiny’s Child here. Unfortunately, I misplaced my credit card and require funds for an airline ticket since I want to visit your city to perform. Could you possibly help me out with some money? I’ll even bring Beyoncé along.

In a follow-up message, the swindler, then, deceitfully claimed that they were  Beyoncé.

Rowland wrote over the screenshot, ‘FAKE AF!!’

The mother of two cautioned, “Take care out here!” She added with a touch of humor, “I hope you didn’t forget that I can spell P-L-A-N-E!

In the past, both Beyoncé and Rowland were part of the renowned girl band, Destiny’s Child, which ruled the music scene during the late ’90s and early 2000s.

At the age of 9, both Rowland and Beyoncé started performing music together, long before they became famous as part of Destiny’s Child.

The band was established back in 1990; however, it wasn’t until 1998 with the release of their hit song “No, No, No” that they tasted commercial success.

The team notched up numerous successful songs, such as Lose My Breath, Survivor, Independent Woman, and more.

As a devoted fan, I followed along as Destiny’s Child parted ways in 2006. Each member, eager to explore their individual paths, chose to pursue solo careers.

For fourteen different Grammy Awards, the band was chosen as nominees throughout their span of fifteen years in the industry.

In 2001, the band ended up winning two Grammy Awards: one for Best R&B Performance by a Vocal Duo or Group and another for Best R&B Song.

Destiny’s Child has reunited on several occasions, including the Super Bowl XLVII halftime show.

At the 2018 Coachella Festival, where Beyoncé was the main act, the chart-toppers joined her on stage later.

More recently, Beyoncé and Rowland came together in November 2024 to witness Michelle Williams’ performance on Broadway in the play “Death Becomes Her.

In May, Beyoncé’s mom, Tina Knowles, referred to Rowland as her third daughter.

On the Today show, she reminisced about Beyoncé being quite reserved as a child and experiencing some bullying.

Throughout the years, Beyoncé and Rowland have maintained a strong friendship, consistently offering each other encouragement as they pursue different career paths.

She expressed, ‘Brightness draws brightness,’ in her own words. ‘I embodied as radiant, warm light – brown and shimmering. Thus, I don’t believe one person’s light diminishes another. Instead, it reveals the lack of self-awareness in those who compare. So, I no longer let others try to dim my light, not from anyone else. I cherish Beyoncé, knowing she’s a beacon too, but I am a light as well.’

2022 found me pondering over the fact that our bond had grown so strong it felt like we were shining together, almost as if we were family at this point.

‘We’re there for each other’s children’s births,’ she said during an interview with Hot 97.
