Spider-Man’s Gut-Wrenching Fate in Brand New Day’s Ending Reported

There’s growing concern that the next Spider-Man movie starring Tom Holland might disappoint fans. According to two sources familiar with the project, the film could be a significant departure from what audiences expect. It seems Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures are potentially heading in a surprising direction with the character.

Peter’s devastating Spider-Man: Brand New Day fate rumored

Recent online speculation suggests Peter Parker, Spider-Man, might die in the upcoming ‘Brand New Day’ storyline. An industry insider, MyTimeToShine, discussed these rumors on X (formerly Twitter), highlighting connections to the classic ‘Kraven’s Last Hunt’ comic book arc.

Insider SM Vision previously claimed the film would “end badly” with a “big cliffhanger.”

The storyline ‘Kraven’s Last Hunt’ features Kraven capturing and burying Spider-Man alive, then pretending to be him for weeks. While a direct adaptation might not happen, Spider-Man could temporarily disappear, only to return later. Another popular fan theory suggests a deadly fight between an angry Hulk and Spider-Man.

Brand New Day takes place four years after the events of No Way Home. The story begins with Peter living completely on his own, having intentionally made everyone forget him and removed himself from their lives. Throughout the film, he’ll confront what’s being described as one of his greatest challenges yet.

Mark Ruffalo is back as Bruce Banner, also known as the Hulk, and there’s talk he might become the more aggressive, classic “Savage Hulk” version of the character seen in the comics. Meanwhile, fans are buzzing about Sadie Sink’s secret role, with many guessing she’ll be playing the powerful mutant Jean Grey.

The film is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, and the screenplay is by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers. The movie stars Tom Holland, Zendaya, and Jacob Batalon, with Jon Bernthal playing Frank Castle/Punisher, Michael Mando as Mac Gargan/Scorpion, and Marvin Jones III as Lonnie Lincoln/Tombstone.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day arrives in theaters on July 31.
