As a die-hard fan of Taron Egerton and Elton John, I can confidently say that tonight is going to be a night to remember! Rocketman, with its captivating storyline and Egerton’s outstanding performance as Sir Elton John, is more than just a movie – it’s an emotional rollercoaster that takes us through the highs and lows of one of the most iconic musicians in history.
I remember watching Rocketman for the first time and being blown away by Egerton’s transformation into Elton John. The film’s portrayal of their friendship with Bernie Taupin was particularly moving, and I found myself cheering them on every step of the way.

Debuted in 2019, the movie “Rocketman” features an actor portraying music icon Sir Elton John. The plot traces his journey to stardom, along with his personal battles and the friendship he shares with songwriting partner Bernie Taupin, played by Jamie Bell.
If you haven’t seen the movie before or feel like watching it again, tune in to Channel 4 at 9pm tonight (December 30th), as Rocketman will be airing.
The movie titled “Rocketman” received broad appreciation upon its debut, resulting in Taron Egerton winning the Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Musical or Comedic Film category.
The movie, Rocketman, boasts a fresh certification rating of 89% on Rotten Tomatoes, with the site’s general agreement among critics being: “For quite some time, it will be challenging for any rock biopic to portray the ups and downs of an artist’s life as effectively as Rocketman has done.
At the red carpet event for Rocketman’s UK debut, I (the gamer) shared with Digital Spy my overwhelming sense of gratitude and honor in embodying the legendary Elton John on screen.
He stated earlier that he had formed a very powerful bond of friendship with an exceptional individual during this process, and he feels exceptionally fortunate to be included in his life. Additionally, he expressed deep gratitude for being given the significant responsibility of playing this person on screen.
In his latest role, Egerton can be found in the Netflix suspenseful production titled “Carry-On“. Here, he portrays a TSA officer who finds himself in a precarious situation as he is coerced by an enigmatic traveler to allow a potentially harmful package to pass undetected through security and onto a Christmas Day flight.
After being released on December 13, the film achieved the highest opening for a Netflix production in 2021, making it into the top 10 lists of 93 different countries and claiming the number one spot among English-language films with an impressive 42 million viewings.
Rocketman airs tonight (December 30) at 9pm on Channel 4.
