Molly-Mae Hague’s family ‘worried by Tommy Fury’s decision to fight so close to due date’ after she was left ‘traumatised’ by his absence during first month of daughter Bambi’s life

Molly-Mae Hague is taking steps to ensure her well-being as she nears her due date, following her boyfriend Tommy Fury’s announcement of a major boxing match scheduled for the day after she’s expected to give birth.

Love Island stars, both 26, are expecting their second child on June 12th. They are already parents to a three-year-old daughter named Bambi and got back together last year.

However, her family is worried this situation is happening again after Tommy announced he’ll be fighting retired strongman Eddie Hall at the AO Arena in Manchester on June 13th.

This will be the boxer’s first fight in more than a year. Recovering from a fight can take up to six months, depending on the severity of any injuries.

This happened after Molly-Mae was medically induced to give birth, so her partner could be present for their daughter Bambi’s arrival in January 2023, before he competed against Jake Paul.

Tommy was gone for the first month after their daughter was born, traveling to Saudi Arabia to train for his boxing match against Jake, which took place on February 26th. This left Molly-Mae to care for their newborn daughter on her own.

The founder of Maebe has spoken openly about the difficult experience of becoming a new mother, admitting she felt traumatized by being alone during her first month. She shared that she didn’t sleep for a week after giving birth and experienced a breakdown.

At only 23 years old, she openly talked about that time in her life, calling it a truly difficult experience – ‘like hell and back.’ She was overjoyed when Tommy finally came home, saying it felt ‘almost better than the day Bambi was born’.

Now that Tommy is preparing for another boxing match around the time their baby is due, Molly-Mae is said to be firmly resolved to avoid repeating past difficulties.

The couple decided to reconcile in May, but her family remains disappointed that things haven’t improved, especially after they initially ended their engagement in August 2024.

Sources say Zoe, in particular, isn’t happy with Tommy’s choice. She previously lived with Molly to help after Bambi was born and has always been openly critical of the boxer.

A source told The Sun that it’s disappointing Tommy will be unavailable for the first few weeks. This also surprised Zoe, who isn’t one of his supporters.

It feels like they haven’t made any progress and are starting over, but Molly is confident she can handle things on her own.

Her parents wish she’d have a traditional relationship and that Tommy would take time off work after the baby is born, like many fathers do, but they understand that’s not realistic. Everyone is hoping things go smoothly this time, and that she doesn’t face the same difficulties she experienced before.

Molly-Mae’s representative declined to comment when approached by Daily Mail.

According to reports, fans have criticized Tommy for planning his fight so near the time Molly-Mae is expecting her baby.

One viewer expressed disbelief, questioning why someone would repeat an action that previously caused Molly so much distress, especially considering the stress it would create for both her and the baby. They wondered why anyone would intentionally put them through that again.

Someone else pointed out, ‘She was very open about how difficult it was to care for her newborn, Bambi, because his father wasn’t around, and now it seems like he’s repeating that pattern?’

One person commented that it seemed like history was repeating itself, referencing a similar situation with Bambi. Another expressed deep sympathy, saying it was heartbreaking and that nothing ever seemed to improve.

She had previously shared that she felt her life had fallen apart after Bambi was born, and that she experienced a very difficult time in the weeks following the birth.

She also shared how much she depended on her family while Tommy was away, and how this period left her feeling very sick.

In her latest YouTube video, Molly explained that she cared for her baby, Bambi, alone at home for the first four weeks of her life.

Honestly, I just shut everyone out, and I’m still trying to figure out why. It probably sounds like a total overreaction, but those first few weeks… they really messed with me. It’s like, I’m still dealing with the fallout, you know? It was a lot.

It’s a strong word to use, but I was definitely shaken up by the first few weeks after bringing her home. Looking back, it was a really scary time because I felt completely unprepared.

She continued, explaining that the first two weeks were really tough because she was severely constipated. Surprisingly, she said dealing with the constipation was actually more difficult than giving birth – she admitted it probably sounded strange.

She remembered a specific time when she was huddled on the shower floor, desperately calling for Zoe to dial 911, screaming and crying.

Tommy explained his choice to fight shortly after his partner, Molly, was expected to have their baby, saying, ‘I need to work, but my family is my priority, of course.’
