Atticus Baldwin on the changes he hopes to see in Hollywood

Growing up surrounded by the glitz and glamour of Tinseltown, yet remaining grounded and focused on his unique talents and needs as an autistic individual, Atticus embodies the very essence of resilience and determination.

Atticus Baldwin, son of Daniel Baldwin, shares his vision for modifications within Hollywood to better accommodate individuals with autism, outlining areas where the industry needs improvement to create more accessible film sets.

28-year-old Atticus, who is both an actor and a champion for autism awareness, has just been added to the cast of the popular animated YouTube series, God’s Gang. This addition comes as a result of the series’ recent collaboration with Autism in Entertainment – an organization dedicated to expanding job opportunities within the entertainment industry for talented individuals on the autism spectrum.

This show introduces four superhero characters, each embodying the core beliefs of four significant global faiths: Islam, Hinduism, Judaism, and Christianity. In upcoming seasons starting in 2025, Atticus will take on these roles.

Beyond his voice acting skills, Atticus is versatile, with a rich background in both stage and television performances, showcasing a variety of abilities.

In 2022, he assumed the character of Zachary in the Tubi show titled The Wright Turn. This series chronicles the life of a single mother of two who also manages her own PR company.

Having accumulated industry knowledge through his experiences and being raised among esteemed family members, such as his father Daniel, Atticus has developed several suggestions for modifications within Hollywood that could better cater to neurodivergent performers, among whom he counts himself.

Atticus shared with DailyMail.com, most of the autistic artists he’s familiar with benefit from some form of assistance,” he said.

He emphasized, “I indeed require that item. The nature of the assistance can vary from one individual to another. It’s crucial to maintain clarity; if anything remains unclear, it should be made clear.

Atticus often finds it challenging to decipher what others are saying when they speak simultaneously, or in situations where everyone seems to be speaking at the same time.

He prefers when people talk one at a time, as it makes things easier to comprehend. 

The actor suggested that since some artists with autism are particularly sensitive to sound, it would be beneficial to create spaces where these artists could retreat to when they need quiet. This could be a designated room where someone could join them for a break.

Atticus also suggested having fidget spinner toys handy on sets for autistic artists.

‘It’s something that autistic people use if they can’t keep their hands still,’ he explained.

He went on to say that since everyone is unique, it would be most effective to discover what each individual requires, if feasible, beforehand.

“Each autistic individual is unique, just as every person is distinct.

‘We’re all wired a little differently… but being heard and being seen matters.’

As a child, Atticus was frequently exposed to the acting world, given that his father, Daniel, had a sibling (Alec Baldwin) who was well-known for appearing in numerous TV series and films.

He’s particularly recognized for his role as Detective Beau Felton in the long-running NBC television show, Homicide: Life in the City.

Atticus is also related to Hailey Bieber, who is the daughter of his uncle Stephen Baldwin.

He admitted that he has not had a chance to meet his recently discovered cousin, Jack Blues Bieber, as of now, but he intends to do so at some point in the future.

Atticus is eagerly continuing the legacy of his renowned relatives by showcasing his acting skills for the first time on the set of God’s Gang.

Atticus praised the series, expressing his fondness for its characters, animation, and the messages it conveys about love, kindness, unity, and acceptance.

He teased that his character is ‘based off of a famous celebrity who has an explosive temper’ – but couldn’t say much more than that as to not spoil anything for viewers.

At 28 years old, he’s merely scratching the surface of what’s to come. His aspirations soar as he aims to act and scriptwrite for his beloved kids’ programs, Sesame Street and Thomas & Friends in the future.

In his conversation with DailyMail.com, the actor revealed that Thomas & Friends was instrumental in helping him develop his speaking skills during his youth.

Atticus remarked, “Sesame Street and Thomas & Friends are among my all-time preferred television shows, and I personally believe that they rank among the most exceptional programs ever produced throughout human history.

Perhaps, not only those shows but also God’s Game might become another fantastic series to watch, alongside Arthur and Reading Rainbow.
