Missing You’s Richard Armitage teases devastating end for Harlan Coben show

As a seasoned gamer of mystery thrillers, I can confidently say that Harlan Coben’s latest offering, “Missing You,” is shaping up to be a rollercoaster ride of emotional turmoil and suspense. With Richard Armitage hinting at a crushing ending and Sir Lenny Henry expressing hopes for worldwide exclamations of “What?!”, it’s clear that this series will leave no stone unturned in delivering an engaging narrative.

According to Richard Armitage from the series “Missing You,” there could be a heart-wrenching conclusion in Harlan Coben’s most recent mystery novel.

In an exclusive chat with Digital Spy, I shared that wrapping up Fool Me Once left me feeling like someone snatched the floor right out from under me.

He commented: “Constructing the narrative around loss – the missing love from Kat’s father, the lost fiancé, her journey to recover it and reestablish a connection – this is what will likely touch your emotions deeply by the story’s conclusion.

Actor Lenny Henry, who portrays Rosalind Eleazar’s deceased father Clint in the flashback scenes, expressed his aspirations regarding the audience’s response to the series finale.

“We hope there’s gonna be a lot of ‘What?!’ going on around the world,” he said.

Speaking about his creation, the Three Little Birds creator expressed, “I cherished each scene featuring Roz as it allowed me to portray the role of her father. I truly enjoy being a father.

He commented: “It was delightful and excellent. While it’s important to note that this story has its serious aspects, the scenes involving Kat and Clint were heartwarming and served to emphasize their loving bond. This relationship demonstrates that he would go to great lengths for her, a point that will prove crucial in the future.

In a change from his past roles in Harlan Coben’s productions like “Stay Close” and “The Stranger”, Armitage found an opportunity to explore something new with his character in “Missing You”.

He stated that he’s a law enforcement officer, but he hasn’t portrayed an authoritative figure in his acting career. Instead, his roles have usually involved pursuit or gathering information within the plot. However, the character he is currently playing holds onto the mysteries of the past.

“He wants to keep the ground firm. He wants to keep everything buried and he’s experiencing Kat Donovan, who wants to dig deep, and he’s trying to hold on to that.”

Armitage went on to share his hopes for starring in another Coben series.

The star mentioned that they were requested to conduct an interview with Harlan upon the publication of his second-to-last book titled ‘I Will Find You’.

Initially, as I settled down to read it, I found myself thinking, “I hope this isn’t a part I desire, as I fear they won’t cast me again”, but then, in just the first ten pages, I was already thinking, “Wow, this is fantastic!

“I would love to see that adapted. I don’t think they’d let me be in it, but such a great story.”

Missing You arrives on Netflix on January 1, 2025.
