Clash Royale Merge Tactics Season 7 Balance Changes for April 2026: Troops, Rulers, and Traits

Clash Royale’s Merge Tactics is in Season 7 and will run until April 13, 2026. With Season 8 on the horizon, new updates are coming, including balance changes that are currently live for Season 7 as of April 2026.

Merge Tactics Season 7 Balance Changes for Troops

Nerfs

Giant Skeleton

  • Bomb AOE Damage: 300/600/1200/2400 → 200/400/800/1600

The Giant Skeleton’s bomb was doing excessive damage at all skill levels. This limited how quickly he could eliminate opponents and changed his primary function from being a straightforward damage dealer.

Baby Dragon

  • Damage: 130 → 100
  • Range: 3 → 2

The Baby Dragon was previously too powerful because its attacks hit a wide area and it could stay at a safe distance. We’ve adjusted it so it now needs to move closer to deal damage.

Dart Goblin

  • Attack Range: 5 → 4

The reduced range limits his safety and long-distance pressure.

Royal Giant

  • Hit Speed: 1.66s → 2s

Slower attack speed reduces his overall DPS despite other buffs.

Prince

  • Hit Speed: 1.42s → 1.66s

A slower attack rate balances out his increased stats.

Buffs

P.E.K.K.A

  • Hitpoints: 1400 → 1600

P.E.K.K.A gets a solid durability boost, helping her perform better as a frontline tank.

Dart Goblin

  • Attack Damage: 70 → 80

To balance the range nerf, Dart Goblin now deals more damage.

Archer Queen

  • Hits to Activate Ability: 5/4/3/2 → 4/3/2/1
  • Hit Speed: 1.67s → 1.42s

Archer Queen can now trigger her ability faster and attack more quickly by taking fewer hits.

Royal Giant

  • Hitpoints: 900 → 1000
  • Damage: 80 → 100

Despite a slower hit speed, he becomes stronger overall with better stats.

Prince

  • Hitpoints: 800 → 1100

Higher HP allows Prince to survive longer in fights.

Reworks

Giant Skeleton

  • Stun Duration: 2s → 1/2/3/5s

His damage is reduced, but stun duration now scales with level.

Dart Goblin

So, they tweaked this character – his attacks don’t reach as far now, but when they do hit, they really hurt! It used to be I could safely poke with him, but now I’ve gotta play more aggressively to get the most out of his damage. He’s gone from a safe, consistent character to someone who really punishes when I get in close.

P.E.K.K.A

  • Elixir Cost: 3 → 4
  • Ability: Gains far-reaching AoE damage in line with her attack

P.E.K.K.A has been redesigned with a new ability as part of the reworks.

Prince

  • Elixir Cost: 3 → 4

Higher cost comes with stronger stats.

Archer Queen

  • Ability: Single trigger → Multi-trigger

Her ability now activates multiple times.

Merge Tactics Season 7 Balance Changes for Rulers

Buffs

Goblin Queen

  • Goblin Drop Rate: 25% → 33%
  • Goblin Trait Activation: 0 → 1

Goblin Queen now spawns Goblins more frequently, with the drop rate also back to 33%.

Battle Machine

  • Building Hit Speed Growth: 1 → 1.2

Buildings now scale better into later stages, making upgrades more impactful.

Dagger Duchess

  • Bonus Hit Speed: 150% → 180%

This makes her ability more powerful in short bursts, and she can use it more quickly.

Merge Tactics Season 7 Balance Changes for Traits

Nerfs

Dragon

  • Damage Reduction: 50% → 33%
  • Bonus Damage: 50% → 33%

As a big fan, I was noticing the Dragon build was a little too powerful after the latest updates. The developers have listened and made some adjustments, reducing both the base damage and bonus damage. Honestly, it feels much better now – way more balanced and fair for everyone!

Buffs

Warrior

  • Activation Time: 8s → 4s
  • Bonus Damage (2/4): 30% → 40%
  • Bonus Damage (4/4): 60% → 80%
  • Bonus Hit Speed (2/4): 30% → 40%
  • Bonus Hit Speed (4/4): 60% → 80%

Warriors now activate much faster and gain stronger bonuses.

Ace

  • Bonus Damage (4/4): 70 → 100
  • Heal per Defeat (2/4): 40 → 50

A good amount of buff for the Ace trait with bonus damage and heal per defeat.

Superstar

  • Filled Ability Bar (2/4): 1/3 → 50%
  • Filled Ability Bar (4/4): 2/3 → 100%

Superstar units now gain faster ability access.

Reworks

Ace

Now focuses only on bonus damage instead of multiple buffs, simplifying its role.

Clan

Now grants bonus HP instead of multiple effects, making it easier to understand and counter.

Titan

Each Titan now has unique effects instead of a shared damage reduction bonus.

Fire

Each Fire unit now has individual abilities instead of shared stacking damage.

Noble

Now provides bonuses based on adjacency rather than positioning roles.

Bug Fixes

We’ve resolved an issue where the Witch’s summoned skeletons were too strong, having more health and dealing more damage than intended. We also fixed a bug with the Skeleton Dragon where multiple copies of the unit were spawning with full health.
