Harvey Fierstein reveals how he used weight loss drug to shed 120 pounds: 'I don't feel like I'm dieting'

As a lifestyle expert with a rich background in wellness and self-improvement, I can wholeheartedly commend Harvey Fierstein for his remarkable weight loss journey. His approach to managing his health, using medication like Zepound to aid him in maintaining a balanced diet, is a testament to the fact that weight loss is not just about willpower but also about finding the right tools to support your goals.

Harvey Fierstein has revealed the key to his dramatically trimmer physique.

70-year-old playwright and actor Fierstein attributes his weight loss to a particular drug, which isn’t the well-known Ozempic that’s often favored by celebrities.

During a chat with Page Six, Fierstein disclosed that he employed the use of weight loss drug Zepound to assist him in reaching his fitness aspirations.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Fierstein added weight and reached a peak of 310 pounds, his highest weight yet, before deciding to make a change.

He dropped an impressive 120 pounds, regained 15, and has since generally maintained that weight. ‘I’ve sort of stayed at that,’ he said.

Using Zepound, Fierstein expresses that he can manage his food consumption without having the sensation of being on a diet.

Fierstein stated that the unique aspect of the drug lies in its effects, as it makes one feel as though they are not on a diet.

As a lifestyle enthusiast, I delight in the simple pleasures of life, such as sharing a meal with companions without feeling compelled to finish every crumb on the table or indulging in an after-dinner treat like ice cream, but instead finding contentment in the company and conversation itself.

‘I know what it is to be full like a normal person,’ he said.

Fierstein, who has experienced periods of being underweight and overweight throughout his life, stated that the medication assisted him in reaching the equilibrium necessary for shedding excess weight.

‘People don’t understand that being fat is not a choice. It’s something that you’re body is out of whack and this puts your body in whack,’ he said.

‘I’m a great believer in it,’ he said.

Actor from the movie “Independence Day” has recently been occupied with the inauguration of Harvey Fierstein’s Theatre Lab at the Performing Arts Library. (Or, alternatively, The actor known for “Independence Day” is currently engaged in the opening of the Harvey Fierstein Theatre Lab at the Performing Arts Library.)

He showcased his slimmer frame as he attended the event last week, and posted a photo from the bash.

Last night, my brother and I unveiled our Theater Lab at the Lincoln Center Performing Arts Library. I can’t wait for everyone to experience the incredible design by David Rockwell! Most importantly, I hope this space will be utilized extensively!!! – This was the message he shared in his post.

Besides this, it is worth noting that Fierstein not only pursues his passion, but also delves deeply into quilting. He takes pleasure in showcasing his creations on various social media platforms.

During the COVID-19 lockdown, Fierstein penned down his memoir titled “I Was Better Last Night,” a book that hit the shelves in 2022.

To write the book, Fierstein sought Shirley MacLaine’s advice.

In conversation with DailyMailTV, Fierstein shared: “My representative suggested, ‘Perhaps you should pen your memoir?’ So I obliged. Who else would I seek guidance from but the prolific author, Shirley MacLaine?

“So I asked her, ‘What should I do?’ She provided valuable guidance, saying, ‘Simply trust your memories when they surface. They will sort through everything for you automatically.’

Fierstein, a celebrated playwright and performer, has made a name for himself both on the grand stages of Broadway and the silver screen. Notably, he starred as Edna Turnblad in Hairspray and left an indelible impression with his role in Mrs. Doubtfire.
