As a long-time admirer of Tom Hanks’ illustrious career and captivating performances, it’s disheartening to see him express concerns about the challenges of aging. Having watched his journey from Forrest Gump to Captain John McClane, I can’t help but feel like I’ve grown up with this talented man.

In recent times, Tom Hanks shared that he’s currently healthier physically compared to three decades back, a statement made only a few weeks prior to causing worry due to visible hand tremors.

Over the weekend, concerns arose among fans about the well-being of the renowned actor, aged 68, when he appeared on Saturday Night Live and his hands were visibly shaking, reminiscent of the character he played in Forrest Gump.

One fan commented under a promotional post on SNL’s official Instagram account, ‘Is Tom Hanks’ hand shaking?’, while another joined the thread to add, ‘I also noticed it!!! And now I am concerned.’

However, mere weeks prior, the actor declared that he was in excellent health, even better than during his thirties. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight in November, he also spoke about the unfavorable effects he experienced at age 35.

As a lifestyle enthusiast, sharing some insights from my latest project – here’s what I experienced while filming: At age 68, you might think the challenges would be more pronounced, but surprisingly, it was during our scenes depicting characters in their early thirties that posed the greatest hurdles for us.

He acknowledged that it seems like a stage when metabolism slows, gravity takes its toll, bones begin to weaken, and posture changes – yet, he feels healthier at present.

Responding to the compliment about his appearance, the actor explained, “That’s because my children are adults now, I’m regularly active, and I watch what I eat. It’s harder to maintain that balance at 35.” He added, “Life has its challenges!

At the same time, Tom shared with People about his part: “It’s wonderful to appear youthful once more… it’s not so enjoyable to feel young again.

As per the given explanation, this narrative unfolds around various generations of families and couples residing in the same house spanning over a hundred years.

Throughout the movie’s extensive timeline, Tom Hanks and his co-star Robin Wright effortlessly switch between portraying their teenage versions and their 80-year-old equivalents. This is achieved through a unique combination of classic makeup techniques and advanced digital aging reversal effects.

He commented on the movie’s special effects: ‘It seemed more like a flashy element due to the fact that similar effects could be achieved with traditional makeup. However, since we had access to a fast-working computer that provided instant results, we didn’t need to wait for post-production to see our de-aged appearances.’

He went on: ‘Look, I’m 68. The much more difficult part that was both physical and spiritual emotionally is when Richard and Margaret are 35 and 42 — when the ageing process just begins to kick in and you no longer are able to spring up off a couch. And you’re not yet to a place where life slows down completely’

The film star then insisted that he ‘rather be as old as I am’.

Tom’s recent concerns came as he turned out to support SNL host Martin Short along with a slew of guest stars including Scarlett Johansson, Paul Rudd, and John Mulaney.

It’s not the first time fans have expressed worry over the Hollywood leading man’s shaky hands.

As I eagerly watched my favorite actor on screen in June 2022, a subtle tremor caught my attention. This minor shake, though, prompted a medical professional to share with DailyMail.com that it might signal the early stages of Parkinson’s disease.

In the scene, Hanks seemed to struggle keeping his right hand steady while he clutched a microphone, all while discussing Baz Luhrmann’s upcoming Elvis film.

Hanks attempted to steady the microphone by positioning his left hand at its base, just underneath his right. For a moment, he swapped hands as well.

Dr. Stuart Fischer, an alumnus of Yale University with a four-year background in emergency medicine and currently serving as the medical head of two nursing homes in New York City, expressed his belief that the Australian video clips hinted towards a progressive illness.

In his conversation with DailyMail.com, he mentioned that for most doctors, Parkinson’s disease would be their immediate thought upon watching the video.

‘This trembling hand can be an early sign of the disease.

‘One would think he would be on the path to a neurologists office now if not already.

‘The development may take place over weeks, months, or even years. Just as was the case with renowned conductor James Levine, a minor tremor in one limb might eventually become a more noticeable physical symptom.’

He said the shaking could be tremors, but given Hanks’ age it was unlikely.

He mentioned that another possibility might be an essential tremor; however, these typically manifest earlier in life – though they can become more severe due to factors like anxiety and stress. Generally speaking, they tend to appear in individuals during their twenties and thirties.

Inquired about a possible connection to his type 2 diabetes, he responded: “There is no such connection. I have absolutely no knowledge of anything like that.

He also ruled out it being linked to Hanks previously having COVID.
