The mid-credit scene sees Sonic accidentally speed into an ambush from none other than Metal Sonic or, should we say, Metal Sonics as the movie takes inspiration from Sonic the Comic which introduced the Brotherhood of Metallix.

As a gamer, I found myself cornered and overpowered by Metal Sonic’s relentless troops. Just when all hope seemed lost, a mysterious figure appeared, wreaking havoc among the invaders. With each swift strike, they fell one by one until only the final Metal Sonic remained standing. In a climactic moment, this hero pulled out a hammer and dealt the decisive blow, shattering the last remnant of the Metal Sonic army.

In a flash, a burst of pink coloring became evident, instantly identifying the hidden ally to video game enthusiasts. However, for those less acquainted with the gaming world, the revelation that Sonic’s savior was none other than Amy Rose would be clear when she took off her hood.

In 1993, characters named Amy Rose and Metal Sonic first appeared in the game “Sonic CD.” Since then, they’ve consistently shown up throughout the series.

In the games, Metal Sonic was developed by Dr. Robotnik; it’s likely he’s responsible for this character too. Meanwhile, Amy Rose, a lovestruck hedgehog, is smitten with Sonic. The hammer shown in the mid-credit sequence resembles the Piko Piko Hammer from the games.

When Ben Schwartz saw it, he became utterly bewildered. What unfolded was precisely the scenario he had been eagerly anticipating.

In the upcoming movie, it seems likely that Shadow will join forces with Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles against any danger they might encounter, similar to how Knuckles once teamed up with them.

It’s further proof that this series is basically the kid-friendly version of Fast & Furious.
