Kerry Washington’s new movie is now available to watch on Netflix

As a seasoned gamer with a penchant for historical dramas and a soft spot for movies that celebrate the resilience of women, I can’t help but be intrigued by “The Six Triple Eight” now streaming on Netflix.

You can now stream “The Six Triple Eight” on Netflix, after it was shown in select cinemas this month.

Tyler Perry’s latest film features Kerry Washington, Ebony Obsidian, and Oprah Winfrey and is inspired by the real-life story of the only Women’s Army Corps unit of color deployed overseas during World War II – the 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion.

The team was assigned an unusual job: clearing a three-year pileup of undelivered mail addressed to American soldiers stationed abroad. With just half a year to accomplish this daunting task, they managed to complete it in under 3 months, providing a glimmer of hope for those on the front lines.

If you’re interested in checking it out, “The Six Triple Eight” has just been made available on Netflix for your viewing pleasure! It was added to their streaming service as of today, December 20th.

Perry found inspiration for the film following his encounter with Lena Derriicott King, a past member of the group, who recently passed away at the ripe age of 100.

In a heartfelt tribute, he shared, “For a few hours, we spent time together in her home, engaging in an enjoyable dialogue. As I departed, a full-blown movie script formed in my mind, yearning to be penned for her.

Perry crafted and oversaw the production of “The Six Triple Eight“, drawing inspiration for his screenplay from an article penned by Kevin M Hymel in 2019, which appeared in “WWII History Magazine“.

The movie “The Six Triple Eight” currently holds a half-and-half 50% score on Rotten Tomatoes based on initial critic reviews. However, as Perry mentioned not long ago, he has refrained from reading film reviews for approximately two decades for a sound reason.

He emphasized that he is deliberate and purposeful in the tales he shares, and he doesn’t want his efforts to be scrutinized. It seems you might not grasp it, as it wasn’t intended for your understanding. Instead, focus on what the intended audience perceives, as he shared with The Times.

The Six Triple Eight is available to watch now on Netflix.
