David Tennant shows off first tattoo paying sweet tribute to wife
As a gamer with a soft spot for Doctor Who and its stellar cast, I was thrilled to learn about David Tennant‘s heartwarming tribute to his wife Georgia. With a rich history that began on set, their journey has been nothing short of extraordinary – from co-stars to spouses, and now proud parents to five wonderful children.
David Tennant has shared his first tattoo which pays tribute to his wife Georgia.
In 2011, the actor from “Doctor Who” and the actor from “Staged” got married. They met each other during the “Doctor Who” episode titled “The Doctor’s Daughter.
The couple share five children, including Georgia’s son Ty Tennant whom David adopted.
To celebrate Georgia’s birthday, David chose to get his initial tattoo of love for his wife, which features a tiny ‘G’ on his wrist.
Posting a photo featuring both the actor and their tattoo, along with a detailed close-up shot of the artwork, tattoo artist Sym Kang expressed his gratitude for being given the opportunity to design this masterpiece on the actor.
In a recent Instagram post, they shared that the secret is out – they had the privilege of creating the unique ‘G’ font tattoo for David Tennant, as a special tribute for his wife, Georgia Tennant, on her birthday.
The artist shared that among their earliest works was a tattoo depicting the Bad Wolf character from Doctor Who. Thus, creating this piece felt like coming full circle.
They continued: “As a Queer Non-binary artist, David and Georgia’s allyship and activism for our community has been a shining light, and I’m very grateful to have curated this tattoo and look forward to continuing to make special tattoos for special people.”
In October, Georgia re-entered the universe associated with “Doctor Who” through a spin-off audio series titled “The Doctor’s Daughter: Preserving Time.
In the show, she once again took on the character of Jenny, a person we first encountered when Georgia and David crossed paths back in 2008.
After a triumphant first appearance the previous year, David is set to reprise his role as host for the EE BAFTA Film Awards in 2025.
