Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra Gets New Story Details and a Piece of Concept Art

As a seasoned gamer with decades of gaming under my belt, I must say that the announcement of Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra has me genuinely excited! With Amy Hennig at the helm and a story set during World War II featuring Captain America and Black Panther, it’s like they’ve taken all my favorite elements from classic adventure films and rolled them into one epic game.

In the upcoming comic book adventure titled “Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra,” led by Amy Hennig, previously known for her work on “Uncharted,” has unveiled fresh details and a concept art piece. This comes after the game’s complete reveal in March, followed by an impressive story trailer crafted using Unreal Engine 5.

The story, as mentioned by Hennig to Entertainment Weekly via VGC, involves Captain America, portrayed by Drew Moerlein, and Black Panther, played by Khary Payton, and is centered right in the heart of World War II. This narrative choice allowed us to explore a variety of intriguing elements, such as focusing on a younger Steve Rogers who’s still finding his way, rather than the more experienced character we’ve seen in many other films. Additionally, it provided an opportunity to introduce a new Black Panther from 1943.

Hennig continued, explaining how the project delved into everything he cherished, encompassing the thrilling elements of World War II adventure films, traditional espionage movies, and more. Our narrative is filled with mystery, unexpected plot developments, captivating personalities, and intriguing settings.

In addition, she posted a fresh illustration depicting the dense forests of Wakanda. As Hennig explains, “At this particular moment, Wakanda remains secluded from the rest of the world and safeguarded by this impassable jungle.” They prefer to avoid involvement, but circumstances force them into conflict. They must defend their territory. The globe is shrinking. No satellites are in use as yet, but they will be soon. It’s possible to bring down aircraft trying to fly over Wakanda, but for how long can they remain hidden?

The video game titled “Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra” is currently being worked on by Skydance Games, with an expected launch date in the year 2025 for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and personal computers (PC).
