The Christmas movie starring Chris Evans and Dwayne Johnson, titled “Red One,” didn’t make a big splash at the cinemas, however, it has performed quite well on Amazon Prime Video.

The movie, centered around a hacker involved in the rescue of a kidnapped Santa, didn’t manage to attract a large audience to the cinema, earning just $175 million globally during its run at the box office.

In our assessment at Digital Spy, we only awarded it two stars out of five, with the comment “there’s nothing here to truly captivate.” The Rotten Tomatoes score initially stood at 32%, a figure that has since dipped further to 30%.

Surprisingly, many people seem thrilled about watching “Red One” from home, since it’s currently available for streaming at no cost. Intriguingly, its addition to Prime Video has even made it the platform’s most popular debut movie among subscribers.

According to Variety, the film “Red One” was watched by more than 50 million viewers during its initial four-day run on Amazon Prime Video.
