Goldfinger’s son quits his marital home for new love

Goldfinger's son quits his marital home for new love

As an experienced observer of human endeavors and a connoisseur of the finer things in life, I find myself particularly captivated by the intriguing tales that unfold in this compilation.

For any son, it can be quite intimidating to step out of the limelight cast by a charismatic and successful father, such as the late Ian ‘Goldfinger’ Posgate, who was renowned for his wealth-making abilities. This is particularly true when the father is known for creating vast fortunes, as was the case with this controversial figure.

Currently, seven years following the demise of his father who was a prominent figure at Lloyd’s insurance market for over three decades, Richard Posgate is causing quite a stir whenever his name comes up – most notably in Notting Hill, an affluent neighborhood in London’s west end where he and his wife Rebecca, aged 64, have resided for more than two decades.

The £12 million mansion they own demonstrates Posgate junior’s personal achievements in the dirty yet glamorous insurance industry. This success also allowed him to purchase a place often referred to as ‘a castle’ in County Cork, Republic of Ireland, which happens to be his mother’s birthplace.

But his commercial triumphs aren’t the cause of current excitement – and howls of female outrage.

These are, instead, inspired by an abrupt reconfiguration of his domestic circumstances.

After attending a Catholic public school that costs around £52,164 per year named Downside, 65-year-old Posgate, who is also a grandfather, decided to leave his marital home and embark on a fresh start with a new romantic partner. This change comes at an age where he has formed significant relationships, but the relationship in question is not entirely novel to him.

I’m told, been friends with for many years.

I’ve been informed by a local in Notting Hill that he’s dating a young woman of Korean origin. She appears to be around two decades younger than him. Interestingly, they haven’t ventured off to Ireland or any part of the European continent yet.

Instead, it appears that Goldfinger’s son has chosen to reside on the Gold Coast of Australia. ‘He’s moved to Brisbane now. The local ladies, particularly those who are more mature, are expressing their displeasure.’

Posgate declines to comment, as does his now estranged wife.

A bystander comments, “It’s clearly extremely unfortunate,” as some whisper about ‘the Osborne Impact’.

It’s a back-handed reference to former Chancellor George Osborne who ditched his first wife, Frances, moving in with his lover, Thea Rogers… whom he married the following year and now lives a stone’s throw from Posgate’s house.

Sophie’s new magic trick

Sophie Ellis-Bextor is in demand on New Year’s Eve.

On New Year’s Day, the artist behind “Murder On The Dancefloor” hosts a two-hour special, titled “Kitchen Disco Ultimate Party Hits,” on Radio 2 starting at noon!

At midnight, she will dance exuberantly to welcome the New Year on BBC One. However, her celebration won’t end there – for Ellis-Bextor, aged 45, (as seen in the image), will also perform live from New York in 2025, as part of an ABC special hosted by Ryan Seacrest.

The friend implies that the BBC One show, instead of feeling like a real-time New Year’s Eve celebration, is actually being pre-recorded this week at Hammersmith.

Will Jagger’s pool plans be felled again?

As a diehard fan, I can’t help but share the news that legend Sir Mick Jagger is trading his microphone for a chainsaw! Yes, you heard it right! He’s planning to tackle the magnolia trees at his magnificent £10million west London residence with a vengeance. Can’t wait to see him in action!

81-year-old Mick Jagger, the vocalist of The Rolling Stones, desired to remove all of them entirely to construct an underground swimming pool at his historic, 17th-century estate which boasts a Grade I listing.

However, due to neighbors’ complaints about the tree-felling, he was compelled to relocate his 28×12 feet pool. Currently, he is seeking approval from Kensington and Chelsea Council to reduce the trees by 3 feet.

Jagger must obtain permission to perform the work because the vegetation resides within a conserved region, though it isn’t safeguarded by a Tree Protection Ordinance. We’re anticipating a resolution early next year.

Logan’s determination to present Match Of The Day

She’s one of three presenters expected to replace Match Of The Day stalwart Gary Lineker.

Gabby Logan seems very committed to fulfilling her role, as suggested by this personal story about her family.

The daughter of ex-footballer and coach Terry Yorath shares that her father was quite outspoken, as evidenced by a memorable incident in a Spanish restaurant. During this encounter, they argued over her desire for a new pair of shoes. He proposed, “If you finish the entire jar of mustard on the table, I’ll buy those shoes for you.

‘I decanted it, started eating it and my Mum said, “Nope”, because I was obviously going green.’

Logan mentions, ‘My siblings were aghast as they saw me ready to perform this action just for these shoes.’

Christie’s record disappointment

Christie’s believed they had set a new record – as the most expensive 18th-century artwork ever sold in France – when Jean Simeon Chardin’s “Cut Melon” painting, dated 1760, was auctioned off for over £20million in June.

There is, however, a hitch: the buyer, Nanni Bassani Antivari, 39, son of luxury yacht mogul Luca, has failed to pay up. Now, the British-owned auction house is suing him in France, where the sale took place.

The final selling price surpassed the painting’s estimated value by more than twice; it was over £20 million. The exquisite Chardin artwork, featuring a melon perched above other fruits on a table, had been part of the Rothschild family collection since 1876.
