Skeleton Crew: Who does Sam Witwer voice in the series?

As a die-hard Star Wars fan who has grown up with the franchise, I must say that Sam Witwer’s addition to the Star Wars universe has always been a delightful surprise. From his chilling portrayal of Darth Maul and Starkiller to voicing the dark side in Jedi Temple Challenge, he has become synonymous with the sinister side of the Force.

Sam Witwer, well-known for his roles within the Star Wars universe, has a knack for voicing characters that lean towards the dark side. He’s lent his voice to various TV shows, movies, video games, and audiobooks. His most famous roles include Darth Maul and Galen Marek, AKA Starkiller. Given this background, it’s fitting that he voices the Dark Side on the kids’ game show Jedi Temple Challenge. This explains why his recent appearance in Star Wars: Skeleton Crew is quite amusing.

Sam Witwer voices the Teek in Star Wars: Skeleton Crew

In the second episode of the latest series, titled “Way, Way Out Past The Barrier,” the young characters Wim, Fern, Neel, and KB find themselves in Port Borgo. To reach the pirate-ridden region, they need to transfer from their ship to the port using a ferry. The ferry operator is a unique creature known as a Teek, a small species that were introduced in the television movie “Ewoks: The Battle For Endor.

And the scraggily little Teek is voiced by none other than Sam Witwer.

40 years ago in November, the precursor film to Ewoks: The Battle of Endor titled Caravan of Courage: An Ewok Adventure was released. In this movie, Teek, a future friend of Noa Briqualon (played by Wilford Brimley), made his debut. Throughout this year, fans have been commemorating these films, with one notable event being the release of a new Ewoks comic book miniseries that delves into the post-Return of the Jedi lives of these furry characters.

Instead of Dee Bradley Baker being the one we typically associate with voicing creatures due to his reputation as a creature voice actor, it’s amusing to find Sam Witwer stepping into the role. I bet he enjoyed every moment animating this furry character in Skeleton Crew.
