As an ardent fan with a heart full of empathy and admiration for Patti Newton, I cannot help but be moved by her unwavering efforts to bring her estranged son Matthew home for Christmas. Her tireless endeavors, despite the numerous hurdles and heartaches that have marked their relationship, speak volumes about her indomitable spirit and deep-seated love for her child.

A recent report indicates that Patti Newton is putting in a lot of effort to bring her son, Matthew Newton, closer to his sibling, Lauren.

On Monday, it was reported by Women’s Day that the problematic actor, currently residing in the U.S., has been largely disconnected from his family in Australia. His mother, Patti (aged 79), is making efforts to bring him back into the family before Christmas.

According to a reported source, while Patti makes efforts to keep in touch with Matthew, he doesn’t always respond to her messages.

‘It is sad that she has come to terms with this level of contact.’

Part of the issue is an ongoing rift between Matthew, 47, and his sister, the magazine alleges.

The source asserts that it’s likely there isn’t a lot of interaction or perhaps no interaction at all between the Newton siblings, hinting at some underlying tension possibly due to jealousy.

Regarding Patti, it was pointed out that she’s faced tremendous hardships with this man, yet her friends and family have urged her multiple times to keep distance. However, it’s not straightforward for a mother to ignore her concerns about her child, as the speaker noted.

Daily Mail Australia has reached out to Patti Newtown for comment.

According to Woman’s Day, it had been stated that Patti had been determined to bring her son back to Melbourne for a family reunion following his long absence and a string of controversies.

Matthew hasn’t been home to Australia in years and didn’t return for his father’s funeral in 2021.

He has been enjoying a quiet and anonymous life in America following a series of scandals.

This includes domestic violence allegations from two former girlfriends: Australian actresses Brooke Satchwell and Rachael Taylor.

2007 saw him admitting guilt for the act of assault against Satchwell. However, a judge later annulled the conviction due to the fact that Matthew was diagnosed with a ‘serious depressive disorder.’

Three years on, Matthew received a two-year restraining order for domestic violence following an incident at a hotel in Rome, which Taylor accused him of causing.

In 2012, he was taken into custody not once but twice in Miami, Florida. The initial arrest was due to trespassing and defying officers, whereas the subsequent detention followed an altercation where he allegedly assaulted a hotel receptionist and again resisted being apprehended, leading to charges of battery and resisting arrest.

After facing accusations, Matthew sought help at the Betty Ford Center in California, spending 90 days for treatment of alcohol and substance abuse issues.

Previously this year, there were reports that Matthew refuted rumors about his marriage to Catherine Schneiderman ending, despite him leaving the shared Texas ranch and moving back to New York City – where they initially met in 2012.

Woman’s Day claimed the couple parted ways after ‘a rough couple of years’.

Over the past 24 months, Matty has faced significant challenges that have severely impacted his relationship, according to a source who spoke to the publication.

‘Cat and Matthew had looked for a fresh start in Texas a few years back, but sadly it didn’t help.’

Additionally, it was stated that his mother, Patti, expresses worry about Matt and is contemplating traveling to the United States to assist him with settling in New York.

It is claimed that when Matthew’s marriage fell apart, he contacted his mother for support, and Patti immediately put aside her own affairs to assist him remotely.

When contacted for comment, Matthew denied he and Catherine had split.

Catherine, who was born to the ex-New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman, seems to reside in Texas currently and has developed a bond with a resident named Troy Evans.

Evans even has had her name tattooed on his arm.

Photos posted on Instagram by Catherine in March depict her, a brunette, standing side-by-side with Troy, who is heavily tattooed, at a Texas rodeo event.

Apart from that, she additionally posted a picture of them both in cowboy hats, standing on a farm, taken in December 2023. The accompanying caption read: “Let’s ride!

In the past few months, it seems like the woman with dark hair has experienced a significant change, as she now appears to be considerably thinner.

People began talking about potential issues in their relationship when Catherine posted a selfie on Instagram without her wedding ring.

In the image, Catherine’s left hand is visible while she’s holding her phone, but her diamond wedding ring wasn’t noticeable.

Catherine titled her collection of photos with a mysterious phrase: “Life seems to be teaching me another lesson.

In the year 2017, Matthew and Catherine tied the knot, and it had been reported that they were peacefully cohabiting within a grand residence in Texas, United States.
