Still got it! AFL legend Ben Cousins, 46, shows off his ripped figure during gym workout after finally getting his life back on track
As a lifestyle expert with a keen eye for resilience and transformation, I am genuinely inspired by the journey of Ben Cousins. His story is a testament to the human spirit’s ability to bounce back from adversity and reclaim one’s life.
On Sunday, AFL icon Ben Cousins demonstrated that he’s still in top form by displaying his well-toned physique during an intense training session.
Ben, 46, took to Instagram on Sunday to share a video of himself lifting weights in a small gym.
Previously known soccer athlete showcased his well-defined arms in a black sleeveless shirt and shorts, paired with black shoes and socks.
Initially, he did an incline bench press using dumbbells, then shifted focus to exercises that worked his shoulders and back (lats).
He also got down on the floor and did some old fashion medicine ball exercises.
He greeted with a “Good morning” upon entering the gym, then set his bag aside and started lifting weights.
After finishing his exercise routine, Ben remarked, “At times, you need to force yourself to come; I always feel improved afterwards.
In the title of his video, Ben encourages us by saying, “On the days you feel unmotivated, that’s exactly when you need to push forward! Go for it!
Ben managed to change his stormy past after a tough struggle with drug dependence, and now he’s openly expressing that he’s never felt more content.
He’s been putting in effort to strengthen his bond with his kids, Angelique (11) and Bobby (13), as part of his transformation process.
A week ago, he publicly announced on social media that his daughter had completed primary school, accompanied by a picture of her extravagant Christmas wish list.
He posted a photo of him and his daughter, who was on her last day of primary school, saying, “Time is flying by so quickly!
‘And lot long after that photo this Christmas list from her landed. Help,’ he wrote.
Apart from designer outfits, cash, and precious gems, the youngster’s wishlist expanded to incorporate a MacBook computer, a fresh smartphone, and a well-stocked mini refrigerator too.
From 1996 to 2007, Ben participated in a total of 238 matches and scored an impressive 205 goals for West Coast. In the second last year he spent in Perth, he was part of the winning team in the premiership competition.
From 2001 to 2005, the ex-midfielder served as captain for the Eagles team. In four out of the five seasons, he managed to win the club’s most prestigious honor, acknowledging both exceptional performance and fair play.
In March 2007, he was temporarily dismissed from the team following accusations of drug misuse, which occurred only six months after our victory in the grand final against Sydney. Six months afterward, he was fired following his arrest on drug-related charges and his unwillingness to undergo a blood test.
He returned to the AFL in 2009 with Richmond, before retiring at the end of the 2010 season.
For a span of thirteen years, he was imprisoned six times, with seven months of that time being served in prison during the year 2020. It seems like he made the decision that it was time to stop at that point.
Currently, he’s following the correct course, delivering the news for Channel 7 in Western Australia, and not too long ago, he graced the stage of Dancing with the Stars.
Ben has said he only regrets how long it took to get clean.
