As a longtime fan of dance competitions and a connoisseur of British television, I have to say that this year’s Strictly Come Dancing has been nothing short of a rollercoaster ride. However, amidst all the scandals and controversy, one shining star has emerged – Chris and his partner Dianne.

Reportedly, Chris McCausland, the clear winner from last weekend’s intense finale, is expected to earn an impressive £1M.

47-year-old popular comedian won the title in a live finale on Saturday, sharing the victory with his dance partner Dianne Buswell. They triumphed over other finalists Tasha Ghouri, JB Gill, and Sarah Hadland.

Chris has already added an incredible 100 extra dates to his Yonks comedy tour and according to The Mirror is being lined up for TV presenting and acting gigs – after being said to have helped to save the glitzy competition following a year of scandals.

PR specialist Mark Borkowski stated in the article: ‘Not only did he dance his way to financial success, but he also brought Strictly Come Dancing along with him, transforming what could have been a catastrophic situation into a shining story of redemption that captured everyone’s attention.’

‘Despite being blind, this comedian has surpassed all assumptions and won in a way that feels revolutionary yet organic. His skills and charm have shown that it’s raw ability and captivating personality that truly enthralls the crowd.’

Before adding: ‘Strictly just polished his star into prime-time gold’.

In simpler terms, PR specialist Mark Borkowski stated to The Mirror that ‘Chris appears to be the unexpected hero of Strictly Come Dancing following a turbulent period before its start.’

His genuine personality and humor have significantly boosted the show’s trustworthiness and coziness, making us all recall the reasons we initially adored this format.

In addition, it is reported that Chris, known for his relatable humor, is being considered for a significant BBC program as an effort to strengthen their comedy programming.

Apart from becoming the first-ever blind contestant on Strictly, he not only left a mark in history but also charmed the higher-ups with his quick-witted humor.

According to a source, his hilarious antics on Strictly demonstrated not only his comedic abilities but also his knack for humor that resonates with regular viewers at home, suggesting a more conventional and relatable sense of humor.

“Critics often point out that many comedies on the Beeb lack something fresh, but Chris has the potential to revitalize a genre that used to be a major strength for the corporation.

Previously mentioned, there’s a possibility that Chris’ diverse skills might be utilized in a broader entertainment setting, such as a general variety show. Additionally, the management is considering reteaming him with his former professional partner, Dianne, in an attempt to recreate their exceptional on-stage chemistry.

At the conclusion, Chris burst into tears upon hearing he’d won, receiving heartfelt hugs from his fellow stars. With joy, he hoisted Dianne aloft and the crowd erupted with excitement.

Inquired about their feelings during that particular moment, hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman were told by Chris: “It’s incredible! I’m at a loss for words. Honestly, I genuinely believed I was going to be eliminated in the first week or two, even though no one actually went home then. Still, I thought it could happen.

“I’ve been going non-stop, and Dianne has extracted so much from me. She truly earned that trophy.

He then joked: ‘Unless she changes her number she’s stuck with me. This is for [Dianne] and everyone out there, it just shows that with the opportunity and support anything is possible!’.

In the series finale, Chris earned a flawless 40 points for his waltz set to “You’ll Never Walk Alone” by Gerry and the Pacemakers, moving both the judges and audience to tears.

For his second performance, he blended various dance genres to the tune of “You Get What You Give” by New Radicals. He also reenacted his popular “blackout” move during their first dance.

Apart from Chris and Dianne, they grooved to a song they picked themselves – “Instant Karma (We All Shine On)” by the legendary John Lennon.

Despite facing controversy since January, when contestant Amanda Abbington initially voiced her concerns about partner Giovanni Pernice, Chris has consistently provided pleasure to the audience of the troubled show with his performances throughout 2023.

The show was then hit with a fresh wave of scandal when Graziano Di Prima was sacked in July for ‘kicking’ his partner, Love Island star Zara McDermott.

In September, after a BBC investigation, it was determined that Giovanni was not guilty of ten out of the sixteen accusations made by Amanda. However, he is not participating in the present season of the show.
