As I delve deeper into the captivating world of entertainment, I find myself utterly fascinated by the rollercoaster ride that is Max George’s life. From his days as a member of The Wanted to his personal struggles with sobriety and love, Max’s journey has been nothing short of remarkable.

On Sunday, Max George implored his heart monitor to escalate its readings, fearing it might shut down, as he posted a fresh video update from his hospital bed.

36-year-old Tom Parker, who is part of the band The Wanted, disclosed this week that he would be celebrating Christmas in a hospital due to a need for medical care following the discovery of an unidentified heart condition which required immediate attention.

Currently, Max has posted a fresh video featuring him reclining on his bed as he observes his compact heart rate monitor tick from 35 to 34 to 38. In the clip, he playfully gestures with a finger, urging it to climb higher, saying ‘please rise!’

After that, the number fell to 37, and the star hinted at seeking a thrill to boost his heart rate.

He penned: ‘Come on @mancity.. Sort me out will ya?!!’

However, the device then appeared to switch itself off, leaving Max to exhale, ‘Brilliant’

It comes hours after Max revealed he will undergo open heart surgery to have a pacemaker fitted.

Following additional examinations, it was disclosed that Max requires a device implantation to regulate his heartbeat, as a problem was detected in the lower portion of his heart.

He indicated towards himself and stated, ‘Definitely, I will be getting a small implant in this area at some time.’

It seems there’s a problem with a part of my heart known as a blockage. The challenging aspect is determining the cause, as more tests are needed to identify exactly what led to this condition.

As a connoisseur of life and well-being, I can share that the creator behind “Glad You Came” has expressed an enigma surrounding his recent health predicament. While medical professionals have ruled out several potential explanations, the underlying cause remains undisclosed.

Max, who had dealt with alcoholism in the past, stated: “I haven’t touched alcohol for nearly five years now, so it’s clearly not an issue for me.

‘It’s a bit of a mystery really, but that’s the hard bit. It’s the waiting. My heart rate is really, really low. They’re monitoring it 24/7, everyone has been amazing.

‘But the waiting bit is tough. It’s just one of them things unfortunately. Whatever I get, I’ve got to get on with it. We’re hoping pacemaker, a pacemaker is good.’

On Friday, the singer expressed that he had experienced a challenging day at the hospital. He put it this way: “Today wasn’t my best day; it was a bit tough.

This morning, my heart rate unexpectedly lowered, causing a moment of unease. However, the incredible people around me were able to gradually raise it again and stabilize it, which is fantastic.

Many people, including friends and relatives, wonder why I haven’t jumped straight into treatment, but the truth is, numerous tests must be performed first before any action can be taken.

I only need to make it through until next week and finish all my tests; that way, they’ll have a clear understanding of the best course of action.

Max concluded his message by noting he is determined to stay positive amid the ordeal.

He said: ‘Obviously they’ll be able to do something but it’ll be better doing it with all the information they need. But year, it’s s**** But still here and staying positive.’

To start off on Instagram, Max shared that he plans to celebrate Christmas while in the hospital, as he’s currently dating ex-EastEnders actress Maisie Smith.

Yesterday, I wasn’t feeling great at all and ended up being admitted to the hospital. Sadly, some examinations revealed some complications with my heart.

I’ve got quite a few examinations ahead to ascertain the severity of the issues and figure out which operation is necessary for my recovery.

Over the coming weeks or months, it looks like we’re in for some challenging times… And let me tell you, spending Christmas in a hospital bed wasn’t part of my dream holiday plans!

Yet again, I find myself enveloped by a sea of love and encouragement from my remarkable partner Maisie, her dear kinfolk, my own family, and cherished companions. Rest assured, I am completely at peace in this favorable position.

Despite the fact that this comes as a massive surprise and undoubtedly a significant setback, I am determined to face it head-on with everything I possess! I consider myself incredibly fortunate that this issue was discovered when it was.

I want to apologize in advance for any frequent updates you might receive over the next few weeks, as it seems I’ll be spending quite a bit of time in bed. There isn’t an overwhelming amount of activities to report during this period.

For a number of years, Max has been candid about his struggle with excessive drinking and alcohol dependency. Previously, he acknowledged that on one occasion, he consumed approximately 10 pints and three bottles of wine during a single night.

Previously, the artist disclosed that he turned to alcohol as a means of coping with the glare of the limelight and managing his anxiety at a particularly challenging period in his life, which was reportedly his most difficult time yet.

He mentioned an occasion where he drank ten pints and three bottles of wine during his birthday party festivities.

In simpler terms, a single episode of drinking held about 38 alcoholic beverages. It is recommended by the NHS for both men and women to not exceed 14 units in total during a seven-day period.

On Channel 4’s Scared of the Dark, he shared that he was usually intoxicated prior to our performances. He found it challenging to adjust, so he would often drink to help him feel less concerned about it.

At times, it can be challenging to tell apart anxiety and depression, but for me, it seemed to lean more towards anxiety, particularly as the boys reached number one with All Time Low.

Speaking about his excessive celebrations for his birthday, he admitted, “For about a week afterward, I fell sick. My doctor examined my liver and found it was not in the best condition. Clearly, I need to take better care of it, so I decided to stop.

Additionally, he mentioned that the news about his late bandmate Tom Parker’s stage four glioblastoma condition served as a powerful inspiration for him to quit drinking.

Tom died aged 33 on March 30, 2022 following an 18-month battle with brain cancer.

Overwhelmed by emotions, I poured out my heart to Paul, admitting, “How do you manage such a situation? It seems there’s no remedy, only the path of learning to live with it. Yet, finding a way to cope – that, I struggle with greatly.

‘I don’t—I don’t think I’ll ever be okay with it you know. One of the last things I said to him was— I thanked him for making my life so much better than what it ever could have been, you know, like that whole journey through being in the band.

He had been a close companion of mine. Gosh, I can’t help but feel anxious about this relationship not becoming a source of stress or obligation for someone else.

Previously, Max disclosed that his sobriety has led to a greater clarity in life, although it sometimes leaves him feeling quite bored during the weekends.

He said in March last year: ‘I haven’t drunk in 18 months, everyone says “I bet you feel well better don’t you?”

On weekends, I’m just incredibly dull and uninterested! The workweek is still a drag, but during the week, at least it’s simpler to maintain my fitness routine… So, things are quite straightforward for me now.

In January 2014, The Wanted shared a statement indicating that they needed some space to focus on individual projects.

In October 2020, doctors informed Max’s bandmate Tom that he had only a year left to live. Unfortunately, Tom passed away in 2022.

Tom has a five-year-old daughter named Aurelia and a four-year-old son called Bodhi, whom he shares with his late wife Kelsey. Currently, Kelsey is involved in a relationship with someone named Will.

Max has been in a relationship with EastEnders star Maisie Smith, 23, since 2022.

In Jeff Wayne’s musical adaptation of The War of the Worlds, slated for touring in 2025, these two actors were set to portray a married couple on stage.

After appearing on Strictly the following year, Max received an invitation to join the national tour of the dance show, during which he developed a romantic relationship with his fellow performer Maisie.

In the year 2022, he found himself justifying their 13-year age difference, expressing to Hello! that such thoughts are irrelevant. He admires Maisie profoundly for all she has achieved, stating that he finds himself looking up to her in admiration.

Max and Siva reformed the group earlier this year a decade after the boyband’s split.

Following Jay McGuiness and Nathan Sykes’ decision not to participate, Max and Siva teamed up as a duo in April, kicking off their tour as The Wanted 2.0.

In January 2014, The Wanted shared a declaration, indicating they needed some space to focus on individual projects.

Last week, Max and Siva declared they’re set to perform their inaugural UK headlining concert as The Wanted 2.0 at Manchester Cathedral.

I’m thrilled to share that I’ll be gracing ten performances at the UK’s grandest food and music festival in 2025, marking my participation in this exciting event.

Following Max’s health scare, it is unclear whether the duo will be going along with their tour.
