nearly 300 celebrities have entered the jungle on “I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!”, and the most recent victor, Danny Jones, is predicted to earn a fortune after his stint in the program’s 24th season.

38-year-old lead singer of McFly was declared victor by edging out Coleen Rooney, also 38, in a competition. Now, they are anticipated to earn substantial income from public appearances and endorsement opportunities.

According to Brand and Culture Specialist, Nick Ede, the spotlight is firmly on Danny, who stands to win £1.5 million. With this substantial prize, opportunities for endorsements, public appearances, and hosting gigs are likely to come his way.

Although some contestants on the show experienced a significant boost in their careers or underwent a transformative change in public perception, others found themselves fading from the spotlight in show business.

Since appearing on the show, certain celebrities have encountered various challenges such as public scandals, heated celebrity disputes, financial difficulties like bankruptcy, in their private lives.

Carol Thatcher

In 2005, Carol, daughter of the late Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, unexpectedly became a favorite among viewers, eventually winning the title “Queen of the Jungle.

At the age of 71, the journalist successfully stepped out from behind her renowned mother’s limelight, and television executives promptly recognized her talent, ultimately securing her a permanent position on BBC1’s The One Show.

However she was dropped from the show comparing French tennis player Jo-Wilfried Tsonga to a ‘golliwog’ during a break in filming, leaving fellow guest Jo Brand and hosts Adrian Chiles and Christine Lampard ‘aghast’.

In response to The Guardian, Carol stated at the time: “I maintain my original statement. I didn’t plan to issue an apology. My words were not meant in a racist context. It was just a casual way of describing someone’s appearance – someone I hold in high regard.

After that point, her television career has largely stalled, yet she continues to provide herself as a guest speaker for post-dinner events.

She spends her time split between Klosters, Switzerland and Spain, residing there with her husband Marco Glass who teaches skiing.

In one of the rare instances where she spoke openly about Marco, who is sixteen years her junior, she remarked: ‘Eventually, I believe he will fade into the horizon with someone more youthful and attractive.’

Two years following her mother’s demise in 2015, she once again became a topic of discussion. This was due to her decision to auction off belongings of the late prime minister, earning an impressive £4.5M.

The sale was also said to have deepened a rift between Carol and twin brother Mark, writing about him in her 2009 autobiography she said: ‘Mark is married to a beautiful girl, has two fabulous children and various mansions scattered around the world.

I’m an elderly woman, homeless and without a permanent residence, currently staying in a temporary vacation apartment in a ski resort. I’m not particularly wealthy, as evidenced by my modest means.

Jason ‘J’ Brown

48-year-old ex-lead singer of Five, Jason ‘J’ Brown, placed third in a competition held in 2007, coming seven points short of the winner, Christopher Biggins, with supermodel Janice Dickinson taking the top spot.

Even though their 90s popularity was immense, when it came time for the band to reunite on ITV2’s The Big Reunion in 2013, J chose to keep a distance and has stayed away from the limelight since then.

The deep-seated conflicts that eventually dismantled the band were still vivid memories for the lead singer, causing him to refuse both filming and interviews for the program.

Initially, he consented to participate in the ITV reality show; however, he decided to withdraw mere weeks prior to when filming was set to start.

In the height of their popularity, other band members reminisce that J’s behavior was dominating and rather intimidating.

During his peak pop career, the singer had a romantic relationship with Mel C from the Spice Girls, and they have remained good friends since then. In 2021, she mentioned on the Celebrity Search Engine podcast that Jay from 5ive was another person she dated for a while and remains a friend of hers. They don’t get together frequently, but they keep in touch.

Rhona Cameron

In 2003, comedian Rhona faced a turbulent stint during the second season when she was allegedly involved in revealing her former partner and later Great British Baking Show host, Sue Perkins’ sexuality.

59-year-old Rhona recently opened up regarding her past relationship with Sue, a well-known TV personality, while they were both in the jungle. Notably, this was the first time Sue had ever spoken about her sexuality openly to the public.

After my adventurous experience in the jungle, I continued to make waves in the entertainment world. Alongside my partner Suran Dickson, we participated in Celebrity Wife Swap, offering a unique glimpse into our lives. Additionally, I achieved another significant milestone by publishing my debut novel in 2007.

Meanwhile, Rhona juggles her stand-up career with being the host of Channel 4’s Find It, Fix It, Flog It, she also found time to delve into painting and frequently shares her artistic creations on social media.

Lord Brocket

71-year-old Lord Charlie Brocket participated in I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! in 2004 and ended up finishing in a commendable fourth position.

In 1996, the nobleman faced notoriety due to his arrest and subsequent five-year incarceration for committing a £4.5 million car insurance scam.

After appearing on the program, he published an acclaimed autobiography titled “Call Me Charlie,” which recounted his encounters with the legal system.

In addition, he was the host of the short-lived and critically disliked game show Scream! If You Must Get Off (in 2005). This program featured teams competing in challenges akin to the Bush Tucker Trials on I’m A Celebrity.

Last year, there was a recording that showed him yelling at furniture restorer Grace Stedman and slapping at her using his motorcycle glove.

In the movie, the character faced off with Grace at her London store following his win of 2,838.92 pounds in a lawsuit against her. This amount included the price of the curtains as well as a 75-pound administrative fee.

Sophie Anderton

During her appearance on I’m A Celebrity in 2004, Model Sophie, now 47 years old, also displayed her impressive physique when she stepped under the waterfall shower, much like other celebrities did.

After spending time in the southern hemisphere, she subsequently secured hosting roles on “This Morning” and took part in “Celebrity Love Island”.

Despite the fact that the once-popular model for Gossard lingerie had to declare bankruptcy in 2008 due to her struggle with cocaine addiction, she continued her fight.

In the same year, a secret video emerged showing her proposing sexual favors in return for money to an undercover journalist. This scandal significantly decreased her income.

In her 2009 interview on The Jeremy Kyle Show, she openly confessed that it was likely she had exchanged sexual favors with men for financial purposes, primarily to support her drug addiction.

After that, Sophie managed a significant transformation in her life, resulting in a blissful marriage and the establishment of her personal fashion brand, Jundzillova.

Marc Bannerman

2007 saw soap actor Marc, famous for portraying the charismatic Gianni di Marco on EastEnders, venture into the jungle along with celebrities such as Jason ‘J’ Brown from boy band 5ive.

At age 51, the actor found himself developing a romantic connection with his jungle companion, fellow campmate and musician Cerys Matthews, who is also 55 years old.

Yet, their relationship didn’t last long after the Welsh celebrity ended it, stating that he found it difficult to cope with her role as a mother of two and disliked her fashion choices.

Following a three-year run on EastEnders in 2000, I found myself let go. In an interview with The Mirror, I shared that I struggled with depression and sought solace in alcohol to help cope with my feelings.

Despite this, he has persisted with his acting career and made appearances as a guest star in Netflix’s The Witcher, Pennyworth, and Agatha Raisin.

Marc is now also a father of two and even appeared as a guest chef on Steph’s Packed Lunch in 2022.

Linda Barker

For the second season of the show, interior designer Linda Barker, aged 63, ventured into the jungle. She eventually placed third in the competition.

I, a devoted admirer, can’t help but acknowledge that her stunning looks played a pivotal role in skyrocketing her career. She graced the pages of magazines like Zoo, leaving many hearts fluttering, and even took it a step further by releasing my very own Yoga DVD – a perfect blend of beauty and wellness!

She also joined 60 Minute Makeover, Splash!, and Celebrity Come Dine With Me, which are popular reality shows similar to BBC’s Changing Rooms.

Currently, she’s diligently carrying on with her design work, having penned several books on the topic and, most recently, debuting her own line of fabrics and home decor items under the brand name Linda Barker Home in 2021.

Catalina Guirado

In the ’90s, Catalina, well recognized as Chris Evans’ co-host on TGI Friday, was also seen on a 2003 TV series alongside Linda. However, her stay on the show lasted just 10 days.

After her time as a popular figure, now aged 50, she made appearances on shows such as This Morning, Loose Women, and Bo’Selecta!

Additionally, she received an invitation to participate in the show called “Celebrity Stars Recalling Their Icons,” where she portrayed Debbie Harry from Blondie and emerged victorious as the champion.

Now, Catalina resides in an entirely new lifestyle and operates a business that produces equestrian clothing within the United States.

She frequently posts pictures of her fashionable riding attire and horse-related experiences on social media platforms.
