Joe Sugg proudly shares sweet post for his ‘inspirational’ girlfriend Dianne Buswell as she wins Strictly Come Dancing for the first time with Chris McCausland

As a die-hard Strictly Come Dancing fan with a decade of watching under my belt, I must say this year’s final was nothing short of spectacular! Chris and Dianne’s victory dance made my heart swell with joy, not just because they won, but because their journey was filled with ups and downs that mirrored the rollercoaster ride we fans have come to expect from this show.

Joe Sugg recently posted an affectionate, heartfelt note to acknowledge girlfriend Dianne Buswell and her dance partner Chris McCausland for their victory on the BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing competition over the weekend.

In 2024, the dance competition saw its first-ever blind victor in Chris, aged 47, alongside his partner, a 34-year-old professional dancer, who were declared the champions after their remarkable performance.

In the extraordinary finale, Chris, aged 47, edged out contenders Tasha Ghouri, JB Gill, and Sarah Hadland, largely due to his charismatic humor and compelling backstory that revitalized the program after a period of controversies.

Now, it’s Joe who, having crossed paths with Dianne during Strictly Come Dancing back in 2018, is expressing his pride by posting a collection of photos, commending the dancer for her diligence and perseverance.

This year, you’ve not just been a teacher; you’ve been an inspiration, a beacon of knowledge, and a guiding star for us all. Simply extraordinary!

As I gazed at the collection of snapshots, there I was, beaming from ear to ear, clutching the radiant Glitterball trophy triumphantly. To my left, Chris stood tall and proud, and on my right, Joe shared in my joy, completing this unforgettable moment.

Joe additionally adorned the luxurious residence of the couple, featuring a ‘2024 Victory’ flag hung in the hallway and shiny balloons strewn across the floor.

Beaming with delight, I proudly displayed my tiny trophy victoriously, adorned in a sleek, captivating black leather minidress and boots that added an extra touch of sophistication to the moment.

This year, Dianne finally claimed victory on Strictly following her appearance in the finals last season with EastEnders actor Bobby Brazier, who was 20 years old at the time. However, she and her partner were runners-up to Ellie Leach and Vito Coppola.

Previously, Dianne missed the win in 2018 while dancing with her current boyfriend Joe, as Stacey Dooley and Kevin Clifton took home the Glitterball trophy instead.

In this year’s grand finale, setting a new record for the highest score, every pair showcased their skills by performing three dances in front of the discerning judges. Later, hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman declared Chris as the triumphant winner, bestowing upon him the coveted Glitterball trophy.

Following Chris’ victory, he burst into tears as he was affectionately hugged by his celebrity colleagues. With a victorious gesture, he hoisted Dianne onto his shoulders, causing the crowd to erupt with excitement.

Inquired about their feelings during that moment, Chris responded, “I’m amazed; I’m at a loss for words. Honestly, I believed I would be eliminated within the first couple of weeks, and while I know no one was eliminated in the first week, I still thought it could happen to me.

After enduring for a long time, Dianne managed to extract an incredible amount from me. She truly embodies the spirit of that trophy, and I can’t help but express my admiration for her optimism and faith.

Later on, he playfully remarked, “If she doesn’t change her phone number, she’s stuck with me. This goes out to Dianne and everyone else, proving that with the right chances and assistance, nothing is impossible!

In the finale of the series, Chris secured a flawless 40-point score on his rendition of “You’ll Never Walk Alone” by Gerry and the Pacemakers, a waltz that moved both the judges and spectators to tears.

In a different take, his second performance combined various dance genres, set to the tune of “You Get What You Give” by New Radicals. For the opening dance, he reenacted his popular ‘blackout’ incident from earlier.

Apart from them, Chris and Dianne grooved along to the beat of their preferred melody – “Instant Karma!” by John Lennon, popularly known as “(We All Shine On)”.
