The unlucky victim in this incident turns out to be the spouse of a woman named Amparo (Marian Álvarez) and a former confidant of ex-cop Richi (Fernando Valdivielso), who was dismissed due to his struggles with alcoholism.

Initially, Amparo ventures into the building in a quest for her husband, only to succumb to the fumes. Coincidentally, Richi, who was close by, enters the premises and rescues her. Subsequently, these two, who wouldn’t normally associate, join forces to unravel the truth behind the events, both doubting it was an accidental occurrence. At every crime scene, the murderer also leaves a tiny doll resembling Curro, the mascot from the 1992 Seville Exposition.
