Mariah Carey abruptly cancels 2 MORE Christmas shows due to illness with fans left heartbroken
As a long-time devotee of Mariah Carey and a frequent concertgoer, I can’t help but feel a pang of disappointment as her Christmas concerts keep getting canceled due to illness. It’s like waiting for Santa on Christmas Eve, only to find an empty stocking hanging by the chimney.
Mariah Carey has been forced to cancel two more Christmas concerts due to flu.
55-year-old pop legend had planned a nationwide Christmas Time tour, but unfortunately fell ill on December 11th, forcing the cancellation of her concert scheduled at the UBG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh.
Mariah Carey announced on December 13 that she was cancelling her concerts in Newark, scheduled for the same day at the Prudential Center, and the one set for December 15 at UBS Arena in Elmont.
On X, here’s an update from me, your lifestyle guide: Regrettably, my health isn’t cooperating at the moment, forcing me to disappointingly cancel tonight’s and tomorrow’s events in Newark and Belmont. I apologize for any inconvenience caused and appreciate your understanding.
On December 17, she has a last scheduled tour stop at the Barclays Center in New York City, but the event’s status remains uncertain for now.
On December 11 she wrote: ‘Pittsburgh, I am sorry to say, I’ve come down with the flu. It breaks my heart that I unfortunately have to cancel tonight’s show. I love you all so much.
“I’m really devastated about it and appreciate your support. Love, MC.’
Fans were left heartbroken by the news and many revealed they had flown in especially to attend.
I apologize if you aren’t feeling good. I traveled from Houston specifically to see you tonight, so it looks like I’ll have to return to Las Vegas next year for your residency instead.
Another typed: ‘So sad about this… we flew all the way from London for tonight’s show.’
‘Drink lots of water!! It’s too bad we can’t meet tonight, but your health and happiness mean so much more to me! I’ll be missing you on my anniversary, but hopefully, we can catch up in Brooklyn next week.’
Oh dear, I’m truly disheartened by this news, but I get it and wish you a speedy recovery. I know it’s not simple for you. Looking forward to reconnecting with you next year, Mariah.
‘So sad but your health is most important. Feel better and see you next year. Merry Christmas MC
‘Sad not to see you tonight MC. Get well soon Queen!
‘Oh nooo! Sending love and well wishes! Feel better Mariah!’
The tour was unveiled in August, marking the 30th anniversary of her evergreen festive anthem, “All I Want For Christmas Is You.
The initial performance took place on November 6 in Highland, California, while the last concert has been scheduled for December 17 in Brooklyn.
Mariah’s setlist is rounded out with 26 songs and the concert is around 90 minutes-long.
The audience can expect performances of the superstar’s top hits that are most famously known, along with favorite holiday tunes.
Every holiday season, I find myself eagerly sharing and advocating for Carey’s iconic 90s Christmas album in the final two months of the year.
Every holiday season, you can hear the hit single everywhere as fans keep it popular by making it reach the top of the music charts again and again.
