As a devoted fan of the intricate and captivating world of crime investigation, I can hardly contain my excitement as BBC’s beloved series, Silent Witness, prepares to grace our screens once again! The suspense has been building ever since the season finale earlier this year, and now, with the announcement of its return date on January 6, 2025, at the tantalizing hour of 9 pm, my anticipation is reaching fever pitch!
BBC crime series Silent Witness has confirmed a return date.
Earlier this year, the popular series that delves into crime investigations by focusing on a group of forensic pathologists, temporarily left our screens.
The big news is out – season 28 of our favorite show is set to kick off as early as January 6, 2025, airing at 9 pm sharp, right here on BBC One!
Season 28 begins by unveiling the perplexing enigma surrounding the demise of an old lady discovered within a cavern. This case leaves the team pondering about the motivations that could push someone to commit such a heinous act against someone so defenseless.
“We also get an introduction to the two dynamic new team members,” the synopsis adds.
Harriet Maven, portrayed by Maggie Steed from “Rivals,” has been appointed the new leader at The Lyell Centre. Additionally, crime analyst Kit Brooks, known for her role in “The Witcher: Blood Origin,” is now working alongside Jack.
Regarding my recent invitation to become part of the cast, Steed expressed his excitement saying: “I was overjoyed when asked to be on Silent Witness. I’ve always found it fascinating and entertaining, and it has kept me engaged for years. So, it’s a real treat to finally be a part of it.
As a gamer stepping into an epic saga, I’m beyond excited to join the timeless, adored series that is Silent Witness. I can hardly wait to contribute to the outstanding ensemble cast. This marks the 28th season, and it continues to thrive, showing no signs of slowing down!
Before the upcoming episodes, the groundwork for the next season of Silent Witness has already started. It’s scheduled to go into production early next year, and is expected to air in 2026.
Silent Witness will return on Monday, January 6, 2025 at 9pm on BBC One.
