As a seasoned gamer and movie enthusiast with over two decades of experience under my belt, I must confess that the latest addition to Sony’s Spider-Man Universe, Kraven the Hunter, has left me feeling more like a hunted deer than an excited spectator.

Kraven the Hunter has received a harsh critique on Rotten Tomatoes, earning one of the lowest scores among Sony’s films.

In simpler terms, this superhero movie tells the story of Aaron Taylor-Johnson’s character, Sergei Kravinoff, who embarks on an adventure to establish himself as the terrifyingly formidable hunter across the entire realm.

Additionally featuring Ariana DeBose, Fred Hechinger, Christopher Abbott, Alessandro Nivola, and Russell Crowe, this film marks the sixth and concluding chapter in Sony’s Spider-Man Universe. This expansive collection also encompasses the Venom trilogy, Morbius, and Madame Web.

As a die-hard fan, I must admit that my goodbye wasn’t received as triumphantly as I had hoped, at least according to the critics. The movie currently holds a 16% rating on Rotten Tomatoes from its initial 63 reviews, which isn’t exactly the standing ovation I was anticipating. However, it’s worth noting that this is still higher than the ratings for Morbius (15%) and Madame Web (11%). Unfortunately, it falls short compared to all three Venom films.

The standalone film about Spider-Man, titled “Kickoff of Spider-Man”, is an enjoyable watch – the action scenes are seamless, there’s plenty of bloodshed, and Aaron Taylor Johnson adorns a midriff-revealing outfit. However, it’s also complex and crowded with unnecessary characters.
