Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse star gives shocking update on film’s status
As a seasoned gamer with a knack for staying updated on all things Marvel, I can’t help but feel a twinge of unease about the current state of “Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse.” With Tom Holland’s Spidey potentially stealing the spotlight before Miles Morales gets his turn, it’s starting to feel like a never-ending wait for a new chapter in Miles’ story.
Right now, t Beyond the Spider-Verse.
Originally set to debut in cinemas on March 29, 2024, the final installment of Sony’s Academy Award-winning animated series was initially planned. But, unexpectedly, Sony had to remove the movie from its release schedule in July 2023. Since then, there have been mixed reports about the film’s progress. While some news outlets suggest the project is progressing smoothly, others have suggested a more troubling scenario, indicating that the film has undergone significant revisions.
As a gaming enthusiast following the latest news, I’ve noticed that Sony has been pretty tight-lipped about their upcoming movie project, keeping most details under wraps. But, finally, one of the cast members decided to speak up, and unfortunately, their words didn’t bring any positive vibes.
Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse star reveals he hasn’t filmed lines yet
In a new interview with ScreenRant promoting Prime Video’s upcoming film Unstoppable, actor Jharrel Jerome offered up a truly disappointing update on the status of Beyond the Spider-Verse.
When queried regarding the progress of the movie where he’ll resume his character Miles G. Morales, Jerome plainly stated that he, too, is unaware about the state of the film. To clarify, he hasn’t started recording any dialogues for the movie yet.
As a gamer, I haven’t begun recording my voiceovers yet, and truth be told, I’m not at liberty to share much more about it since that team is like a well-guarded secret. Honestly, I’m just as clueless as you are! But let me tell you, the anticipation of diving back into the game and finding out what’s next for my character is electrifying. That last twist was a real jaw-dropper, and I can’t wait to see where they take things from here!
Jerome’s silence about an update implies that he may not be contributing much, suggesting it’s unlikely that “Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse” is nearing completion. Since there are no recorded lines from him yet, it seems we might still have a long wait before Miles Morales returns to the big screen for the final installment of his story.
If it seems unlikely that “Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse” will be released in 2025, we speculate that Sony might opt to delay the film until 2027. This could be due to the fact that Sony has not previously released two Spider-Man films in a single year, and 2026 already hosts the next installment of Tom Holland’s Spider-Man series.
Despite tradition, there’s a possibility that Sony may choose to deviate from its usual path if “Beyond the Spider-Verse” cannot be released in theaters by 2025. However, it seems unlikely that the film will be ready for release next year.
