Guadagnino’s upcoming film based on “American Psycho” is not a rehash of the 2000 movie with the same title. Instead, it represents a fresh take on the horror novel by Bret Easton Ellis. The script has been penned by Scott Z. Burns (known for “Extrapolations”), and Frenesy Films will produce the project, with Sam Pressman serving as executive producer through Pressman Film.

So far, only Butler has been chosen for the cast, with further details about the plot being kept confidential. The story, originally penned by Bret Easton Ellis in 1991, follows Patrick Bateman, a successful Manhattan investment banker who appears to be young, handsome, and respectable on the surface. However, beneath this facade lies a horrifying truth: he is secretly a serial killer living a double life.

Will Guadagnino’s movie be similar to the book?
