Pokémon and Aardman announce collaboration coming in 2027

As a seasoned gamer with a soft spot for both Pokémon and Aardman Animations, I must admit that this collaboration has sent my excitement levels soaring! Growing up, I vividly remember the joy of watching Wallace & Gromit on TV and the thrill of catching ’em all in the Pokémon universe.

The Pokémon company have announced a collaboration with Aardman Animation.

The Pokemon Company and Aardman Animation have unexpectedly teamed up for a future collaboration, as revealed in a social media post. Starting in 2027, these two entities will unite to create an innovative ‘Claymation’ project together.

As a gaming aficionado, let me share some insights about my favorite animation powerhouse – Aardman Animations. Based in the vibrant city of Bristol, UK, they’ve made quite a name for themselves with their exceptional stop motion and clay animation work. Their creations, like Wallace & Gromit, Chicken Run, and Shaun The Sheep, are instantly recognizable and have left an indelible mark on the world of animation.

Pokémon collaborating with Aardman Animation

We haven’t learned too much as of now regarding the outcome of the Pokémon and Aardman Animation partnership, which won’t be realized until 2027. But we’re looking forward to it being either a full-length movie or an animated TV show.

The question on every Pokémon fans mind is exactly who will star in this series. With Ash Ketchum retired, it seems unlikely we will see Pokémon’s most iconic character in clay form. But, we can still hold out hope for some of our favourite Pokémon to appear in this unique style. Hopefully we get to see old favourites like Pikachu, Bulbasaur, Charmander and Squirtle as well as Aardmans takes on Legendary Pokémon like MewTwo, Rayquaza and others. This will be a brand new look for any Pokémon featured.

This announcement expands an already intriguing collection of upcoming Pokémon endeavors, leaving fans eager for updates about the forthcoming game, Legends Z-A, slated for a 2025 launch. Despite the relatively subdued year for Pokémon enthusiasts in 2024, there’s definitely much to anticipate in the coming years.

Who are Aardman Animation?

Hailing from the United Kingdom, Aardman Animation has earned global recognition for their captivating animated productions. Although their partnership with the Pokémon company might turn out to be their most ambitious project yet, it’s their creations like Wallace & Gromit and Chicken Run that have made them particularly renowned.

To note, besides the series, there have been various Aardman Video Games as well. For instance, “Wallace & Gromit in The Grand Getaway,” which was released in 2023, falls under this category. However, it appears that this isn’t a potential video game collaboration at present, but there might still be a slim possibility.

Here comes a fresh Wallace & Gromit adventure titled “Vengeance Most Fowl”! In the UK, you’ll find it in cinemas starting Christmas Day, while fans across the globe can catch it from January 3, 2025.
