As a seasoned radio veteran with a career spanning decades, I can’t help but be awestruck by John’s resilience and adaptability. From his humble beginnings as a freelance broadcaster to gracing the airwaves of some of the UK’s most renowned stations, John’s journey is nothing short of inspiring.

Radio host John Spencer-Barnes, from the BBC, has received numerous heartwarming messages following his announcement that he was admitted to the hospital.

As a seasoned lifestyle guide, I found myself reflecting upon my own journey yesterday, sharing with my followers that I’d recently undergone a procedure at a Lancashire medical facility.

He mentioned on platform X (previously known as Twitter) that since he had no more interesting tasks for the day, he opted to undergo surgery at Burnley General Hospital and posted a picture from his hospital bed. He concluded by saying, “I’ll meet you on the other side.

In just a few short months, John has been admitted to the hospital for a second time due to symptoms resembling a stroke. He was urgently brought in.

Supporters of the radio personality promptly expressed their good wishes towards John as he undergoes an unspecified operation and recovers.

If you need some grapes and a hidden bottle of wine, I can reach Burnley in just 15 minutes. Wishing everything goes smoothly for you.

‘Wishing you a speedy recovery John, best to you both,’; ‘Thinking of you.’

Following another hospitalization in July, it was discovered that John had started exhibiting symptoms associated with a stroke.

The speaker mentioned that he sought medical help due to his worrying symptoms, as he had previously experienced two strokes back in 2015.

He wrote that he had been discharged from the hospital after experiencing some signs of a stroke.

‘After having two strokes in 2015 it’s something that I’m anxious to avoid again.

The test results indicate that there are no pressing issues at the moment, and I will be scheduled for additional tests later this week.

Again fans showed support, saying: ‘Sending you the best healing Karma and big bear hugs!!’;

I’m really happy that you’re home from the hospital! I hope for the best on your test results. Sending positive vibes for a speedy recovery.

In the mid-1980s, John began his career in radio broadcasting as an independent announcer for BRMB station located in Aston, Birmingham.

Following this, he went on to be the news editor of the UK’s first ever community radio station.

In 1994, while based in Preston, Manchester, John was news editor at Rock FM.

At that point in time, he was employed there when the Manchester IRA bombing occurred, causing both major city train stations to shut down temporarily.

However John stepped in and hosted an emergency news broadcast from a small studio in Preston.

Over the past few years, John has been employed by the BBC, shifting roles within different regional stations such as those located in Lancashire, Lancaster, and Morecambe Bay.

In the year 2021, he transitioned into self-employment and frequently shares photos of himself hosting programs on BBC Radio 5 Live and BBC Radio Shropshire.
