Paul Mescal confirmed for new Beatles movies
As a seasoned gamer and a die-hard fan of both epic films and legendary bands, I can hardly contain my excitement about Paul Mescal’s impending role in the upcoming Beatles biopic films!
Paul Mescal is set to star in the upcoming Beatles biopic films.
Previously speculated, the actor from Gladiator II is indeed set to portray Paul McCartney across four films under the direction of Sam Mendes. This role has now been officially verified by director Ridley Scott.
As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, during a panel discussion in Los Angeles after a showing of Gladiator II, Ridley Scott shared that his future collaborations with Cillian Mescal might be uncertain because of Scott’s packed schedule, as he is already committed to working on the upcoming Beatles movies.
At the panel discussion, Scott revealed information on an upcoming venture – a gripping dystopian tale called “The Dog Stars.
When Nolan inquired if Scott was planning to work with Mescal once more, given their joint efforts on the latest Gladiator II, Scott responded: “Possibly, yes. However, Paul currently has a busy schedule, working on the Beatles project. Therefore, I might need to free him up.
Sony Pictures, the studio responsible for the Beatles movies, hasn’t made any formal casting announcements as of yet, but it seems like this particular actor is strongly rumored to be on board with the project.
In a chat with Entertainment Tonight a month ago, Ringo Starr shared that Barry Keoghan has been learning to play drums. According to Starr, he believes that Keoghan is depicting him in the films.
Previously, Mescal was questioned regarding his role within the project when he appeared on The Jimmy Fallon Show. Although evasive in his responses, the lead actor from Normal People expressed enthusiasm, stating it would be a remarkable opportunity to be associated with such a tale.
He shared with the late-night host that having Sam Mendes as the director (for this project) would essentially be living his dream. However, he declined to verify the rumors about Paul McCartney at that moment.
In addition to Mescal, there have been whispers about Joseph Quinn being involved in the Beatles project; however, these reports have yet to be verified.
Gladiator II is out now in cinemas.
