Strictly’s Pete Wicks reveals the real reason why he hasn’t settled down yet ahead of his reunion with Maura Higgins

As a seasoned observer of the tumultuous world of reality TV, I must say that this latest twist in the love story between Maura and Pete is as unpredictable as a Strictly Come Dancing freestyle round. With their shared humor and seemingly perfect compatibility, it seems like a match made in reality television heaven.

Pete Wicks openly shares the reasons he’s still unmarried, prior to his upcoming rendezvous with “I’m A Celebrity” participant Maura Higgins, who is returning from Australia.

On ITV’s program, ex-Love Island contestant Maura, aged 34, disclosed that she had been seeing Pete, 36, prior to her jungle stint, yet expressed uncertainty about their relationship status.

On his “Staying Relevant” podcast on Monday, accompanied by guest Olivia Attwood, the ex-TOWIE star openly shared that maintaining lasting relationships has been a challenge for him.

In the spirit of our interactive session, I found myself asking Olivia: “By the way, do you happen to have any dating tips for me?

As I stand here today, I can’t help but reflect on how much I’ve grown. Once upon a time, I was the young whippersnapper, full of bravado and immaturity. But now, as an older man, I find myself in a new phase of life, wiser and more humble.

Olivia clarified that Pete has no trouble attracting women, but maintaining relationships is another story, as Pete added humorously.

Pete’s previous girlfriends include Megan McKenna, Shelby Tribble and Chloe Sims.

Olivia explained: ‘It seems to me that you prefer to keep others out on your own accord. I get the sense this might be due to past experiences where you found it difficult to let people in. You seem to enjoy solitude, spending time at home with your dogs and a beer, which, honestly, gives off a somewhat lonely vibe.’

In September, Pete shared with The Times magazine that he is nearing the age of 36, expressing a desire to marry and start a family. He reflected on the numerous opportunities he’s been given in life, stating that it all seems meaningless if he can’t experience it alongside someone else.

As a devoted fan, I’d like to share an intriguing tidbit from I’m A Celebrity. Maura disclosed that she and Pete have a longer history than viewers may suspect – she even mentioned that he had persistently courted her.

Previously, it was disclosed that Pete ended his romantic involvement with his dance partner Jowita Przystal on Strictly Come Dancing, as he is resolved to capture the affection of Maura instead.

According to my sources, Pete confides to his friends that he’s head-over-heels in love with the television personality he’s been casually seeing for about half a year.

When he began Strictly and met Jowita, Maura gave up any hope of the relationship continuing.

A friend said: ‘Before Maura entered the jungle, Pete wanted to make their relationship exclusive.

‘But Maura, aware of Pete’s reputation and his close bond with Jowita, decided to slow things down.

‘She gave him an ultimatum: either commit to her or let it go. So she went off a single woman.

However, although Pete appears to have chosen Maura as his partner, the reality star’s mother has made it clear with a firm caution regarding her daughter.

After Maura admitted her confession, Sharon shared with The Sun her single bit of advice for Pete.

She warned the publication: “However, let me tell you this as a heads-up: anyone dating her should be cautious and avoid crossing Maura!

Sharon stated clearly that she didn’t watch the star on Strictly Come Dancing, and she doesn’t intend to either.

She clarified that she hasn’t met the reality star personally yet, and she’s not regularly watching his shows on television.

She mentioned that she has no affinity for Strictly; she’s never found it appealing and hasn’t watched it before, so she’s not planning on starting to watch it now.
