Maiden: Best Builds, Teams, and How to Play

Skill 1: Meditation

As a seasoned gamer who’s been through countless battles and raids, I can confidently say that Maiden: Ice Rose is a game-changer! Her unique abilities to buff her teammates while dealing significant damage make her an absolute must-have in any serious player’s roster.

Triggers during Burst Stage 1: Impacts the character when their MP is zero. Recovers 1 MP, with a maximum storage of 12. All stored MP is depleted when using the Burst Skill.

Maiden’s skill 1 has some weird wording that may look a bit deceiving.

The initial increase of her MP from 0 to 1 isn’t labeled as “Recover”, which doesn’t activate her ability 2, boosting her damage output as a strong elemental buff ▲ for her team.

The way she increases her MP from 1 to 2+ is referred to as REPLENISH, which also empowers her skill 2, causing it to deal damage as a strong elemental buff (▲) for the team. However, if Maiden bursts, this action is not considered replenishing because the game verifies after Maiden uses her MP (0). If Maiden is utilized primarily for damage output, the uptime of her skill 2 team buff will be approximately 40%.

In essence, Maiden can adopt either of two effective gameplay approaches – as a Buffer/Nuker or a Damage Per Second (DPS) character. Notably, it takes approximately 82 seconds, considering the reload period, for Maiden to completely amass her Health buffs.

When and how to play Maiden as a Buffer/Nuker?

When

Maiden can function effectively as both a tank (buffer) and an attacker (nuker) when a commander is equipped with two top-tier electric damage per second units, fully upgraded with optimal overloaded gear enhancements and duplicates. Alternatively, if Maiden hasn’t been optimally leveled or equipped yet, she can still perform these roles but may not be as effective.

Cinderella,anis sparkling:summer

If the Commander’s squad doesn’t include the characters known as Nikkes, you should utilize Maiden: Ice Rose purely for dealing damage. This is due to the fact that Maiden: Ice Rose excels in dishing out a significant amount of personal damage, which is closely linked to her frequent use of burst attacks.

How

The Commander wishes to save using “Ice Rose” until the final move of the battle. If there’s a unit called Nikke in the team, reducing cooldown for “Ice Rose”, Maiden: Ice Rose should accumulate 12 stacks of MP. Once this is achieved, Maiden will be able to launch 12 powerful projectiles at the boss.

When and how to play Maiden as a DPS?

When

If the commander doesn’t have Cinderella and Anis: Sparkling Summer, who are strong electric DPS units, the player might prefer to utilize Maiden as a Damage Per Second (DPS) character. This is because Maiden: Ice Rose excels in comparison to other DPS characters, making her an ideal choice for the main burst role. This preference arises due to Maiden’s self-buffs that increase her damage output by 50% when functioning as a DPS instead of a Buffer, particularly when using her Skill 2.

How

Instead of “burst with her as much as you can,” consider saying “Maiden: Ice Rose unleashes a single projectile at the beginning of each round, followed by more if possible.” This way, it’s clear that she initiates with one shot and may follow up with additional ones.

Skill 2: Blessings Upon You

As a fan, I’d express it like this:

Maiden: Ice Rose possesses a unique advantage that only another Nikke can bestow, which is higher damage towards strong elements. This bonus feature significantly boosts her importance in solo battles and situations where electric opponents are weak.

What is damage as strong element?

The usefulness of this feature typically arises in advanced stages (It’s primarily effective when you have advanced equipment) and when the Commander has an abundance of Nikkes to manage.

In most cases, it’s advisable to employ a character with enhanced power when facing a boss or campaign level. This strategy becomes particularly useful in single player raids and union raids. The reason being, such characters serve as a significant boost to the damage inflicted, making battles more efficient.

(ATK x Buffs x Skill modifiers) x Element Damage = Final Damage

Maiden: Best Builds, Teams, and How to Play

With sufficient elemental damage (80% or more), an S-tier Damage Per Second character can inflict comparable damage to SS or SSS-tier characters when they have an elemental disadvantage, assuming the S-tier character has an elemental advantage that the higher-tier characters lack.

It isn’t recommended to overload lower-tier characters purely for this reason though.

The Maiden’s personal boost and team enhancement abilities cannot function simultaneously. This is because of how her skill 1 is phrased (refer to skill 1 description). As a result, the Maiden’s self-buffs and team buffs have an approximately 40% uptime each, switching between one another if she is used as a DPS. If used as a support, her team buffs will have an approximately 80% uptime.

Maiden Ice Rose provides herself with a big ATK buff based on final max HP, similar to Cinderella.

Max HP to ATK% at level 400 + How it translates to Normal ATK’s

Stats

Assume No recycling level bonuses/Affection bond point bonuses/No gear/etc

Defender HP at level 400 is:

2,483,759 HP x 0.032 = 74,512 ATK

Base defender ATK is = 60,212 ATK

Final ATK (without other buffs) = 134,724 ATK

For comparison, level 400 Attacker has = 90,318 ATK

Normal Attack Calculations

Just like Cinderella who isn’t known for her swift pace, Maiden also lacks rapid charging speed. Consequently, when set on autoplay, Maiden launches an attack approximately every 1.35 seconds because of the delay in her charge mechanism. Her damage output would be…

61.3 x 250% = 153% + 547% (Skill 2 Proc) x 0.73 (Shots per second) = 500% damage per second~

Compared to Cinderella’s 602% Attack damage per second, the Maiden’s Attack doesn’t reach as high a frequency (around 80% versus approximately 40%). Therefore, you can anticipate that the Maiden’s Auto-attacks will deal slightly less than half of Cinderella’s due to her increased Health buffs and HP conversion values.

Burst: Diamond Dust

Targets the enemy unit(s) closest to the reticle for repeated attacks, dealing damage that’s equivalent to 1372.8% of the sum of 10% of the attacker’s maximum health at the end and their attack power. The attack continues based on the current mana points (MP).

Her burst hits hard due to how the conversion works.

10% of her final Health Points (HP) are transformed and added to her Attack values. This enhanced attack value is subsequently amplified by her skill multiplier, which stands at 1372%.

Burst DPS further Explained

let’s say a Nikke has 2,400,000 HP and 60k ATK (around Nikke level 400 defender values)

Maiden Burst values

The Maiden’s Health Points related to Attack have been taken into account, excluding any buffs from her Skill 2 (Buffs affecting both external and internal HP are not included).

2,400,000 x 0.10 = 200,000 + 134,000 (ATK)
334,000 x 1372% x 2 (MP stacks) = 9,164,960 DMG

Cinderella Burst Values (Comparison)

The damage value calculated in this equation (excluding external and internal HP enhancements) for the character Cinderella HP – ATK is:

Total DPS

As an avid fan, I must say that Ice Rose, despite only being roughly half the DPS of Best Boss Killer (Cinderella), offers a lot more than meets the eye. Not only can she boost other electric Nikkes, but her personal DPS surpasses Sparkling Summer (Anis) in certain situations. However, it’s often wise to utilize Maiden as a dedicated supporter within Cinderella/Anis teams due to the increased uptime of elemental damage up for the squad.

In most situations, Maiden: Ice Rose outperforms Scarlet’s personal Damage Per Second (DPS). The exception is when Scarlet can deal consistent core hits, which isn’t common. Therefore, Maiden: Ice Rose proves to be an effective DPS option even beyond electric weak content or specialized teams.

Scarlet vs Maiden (DPS comparison)

In simpler terms, the test is called “Element Neutral Testing”. In this scenario, Scarlet significantly outperforms Maiden, and the team tends to support Scarlet more.

Boss is iron-weak, which is why Crown is dealing more DPS than Scarlet.

Maiden: Best Builds, Teams, and How to Play

Campaign

In the game Campaign, Maiden is specialized and has limited compatibility with certain teams and levels. She stands out as an exceptional buffer particularly for average-tier team structures. Unfortunately, Electric is one of the less potent elements in the Campaign, but due to the impact of elemental damage, she remains a valuable choice when facing stages vulnerable to electric if higher-tier options are not available for the Campaign.

Apart from serving as a buffer, she also functions as a powerful boss destroyer and a good short-term damage booster. The Maiden can deal significant damage to the bosses when her stack count reaches 4 or more, which can happen naturally if the player avoids using the Maiden’s burst until the boss encounter.

In simpler terms, the Maiden character may improve with a more effective electric kit for her campaign, but at this point, she isn’t a better choice compared to existing top-tier teams, not even against weak electric enemies.

Elemental Cope

liter,crown,scarlet,Ein,Maiden: Ice Rose

“Anis: Sparkling Summer can take the place of Scarlet/Ein. Instead of Liter, use any burst called I CDR. Hold off on moving forward to the last wave so you can accumulate more MP, then unleash it all to destroy the boss.

Arena

At first, we weren’t sure about the strength of her base burst generation, as it was similar to that of a typical RL unit. But after thorough testing, we can confidently say that she is an essential pull for any PvP enthusiast. Maiden surpasses every Clip SG in Nikke currently, without requiring feeding. She delivers blows just as powerful, if not more so. She’s another electric Nikke excelling in PvP, and they sure do have a talent for that, don’t they?

As a gamer, I’d rephrase it as follows:

Special Interception | Union Raid | Solo Raid

Original Statement: Ice Rose currently holds the number one position in Electric weak raids, complementing well with Cinderella teams. Additionally, Ice Rose is an excellent addition to the electric roster, allowing Ein and Cinderella to no longer compete for Sparkling Summer and instead have their own distinct teams.

Best in Slot Anomaly Interception Team (Electric)

Cinderella,Rouge,anis: sparkling summer,Crown,Maiden: Ice Rose

Currently, it appears that the strongest team for handling Glass Slippers is Maiden, with Ice Rose boosting their abilities. If Rouge has enough strength to one-shot the slippers during a full burst and full charge, she should be able to do so. However, if your Commander’s Rouge isn’t powerful enough for this task, consider swapping Anis: Sparkling Summer with Ein instead.

Utilize Anis: Sparkling Summer and Cinderella to ignite a blaze; Harness the final flare for Maiden: Ice Rose, ensuring she has approximately 11-12 Magic Points (MP).

Best in Slot Solo Raid Team (Electric)

Cinderella,Rouge,Maiden: Ice Rose,Grave,Attacker

If the Commander lacks an activated Ein squad, the term “Grave” can be substituted with “Crown” in this context: (Ein, Anis: Radiant Summer, Crown, Exia with treasures, D:wife/B1 CDR)

If the position for Grave is filled, then Flex positions could be occupied by Ludmilla: Winter Owner/Modernia/any MG, Red Hood, or Maxwell. If Grave’s position is not filled, then either Red Hood or Maxwell can fill the Flex spots. Both Red Hood and Maxwell are crucial for the team due to their skill in rapidly producing burst damage by repeatedly firing sniper shots.

Grave possesses a special knack for transforming regular MGs into rapid fire generators, leading to more versatile options in Grave’s roster.

Whenever our team requires some healing (which isn’t usually the case), I’d recommend using an off-burst healer such as Rapunzel or Alice from Wonderland, the Bunny Healer. They can provide timely support when needed, keeping our team strong and ready to fight!

Element Neutral

Using Maiden: Ice Rose on neutral elements isn’t typically advised, but she can still be effective. She deals more damage than Scarlet without any drawbacks, or similar/equal damage to Ludmilla: Winter Owner with all critical hits. However, many of her desired buffs are currently ineffective.

Just use Maiden: Ice Rose with your most preferred buffers and DPS’s.

Strengths

  • Best Electric Supporter due to elemental damage up while also having great personal DPS
  • Maiden: Ice Rose in her BiS team is the strongest mono-element team, which makes anomaly intercept (electric) one of the easiest stages to stage 7+
  • Viable in Elysion tower (as 95% of other Elysion DPS’s aren’t)
  • Maiden’s higher than average burst generation and synergy/counters to top-tier Nikkes makes her strong in arena as well.
  • Released after NNN

Weaknesses

  • Maiden’s wanted buffs are locked to electric teams
  • Released during DDD

Should you pull?

For veterans and beginners alike, Maiden: Ice Rose excels particularly against Electric weak stages, making her an exceptional hybrid DPS/buffer. On the other hand, Anis is a more versatile choice since she doesn’t require electric weak stages. Fortunately, these two characters don’t typically conflict with each other in solo raids and union raids as they each have their own optimal teams.

Regarding her abilities beyond her specialty, she inflicts greater harm than Scarlet, deals an equal amount of damage as Ludmilla: Winter’s Keeper, and only a slight less amount of damage compared to Moderna.

Avoiding her (the unit) could significantly lower your rankings in electric-weak solo raids, as well as impact veteran Union raids to some extent. On the other hand, novices might be passing up on a powerful DPS unit during limited/seasonal events, which are not commonly available Pilgrim units and typically have low rates of appearance, even during rate-up periods.

Additionally, it’s worth noting that Maiden excels in Arena and could potentially be utilized in future Champion arenas as well.
