As a die-hard fan who’s been following Coleen Rooney‘s journey since her days as a WAG, it was nothing short of exhilarating to see her conquer the jungle in I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! Her humility and resilience throughout the show were truly inspiring.

As a devoted fan, I must admit that when I stepped onto the set of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! for the first time, I felt a bit uneasy.

38-year-old WAG (Wife of a footballer) gained immense popularity among viewers and ultimately ended up as the first runner-up to Danny Jones, who was crowned “King of the Jungle.

However, Colleen now confesses that at first, she believed her quiet nature might not measure up when compared to the more outgoing personalities.

She disclosed that during the initial days at the camp, she experienced a slight sense of unease; yet, her campmates’ warmth helped ease her discomfort.

In conversation with the Daily Mail, Coleen shared that the initial days weren’t as smooth as they appeared in the final cut, possibly due to the dynamic between the participants.

Instead of finding the experience unpleasant, they managed to make it relaxing for me. I sat there peacefully, taking in the sights of the campsite, while everyone else seemed more lively. My demeanor was particularly tranquil compared to those around me.

Coleen added: ‘Do you know what, I was just myself and that was the thing going in there.

During my initial week, I found myself contemplating whether I would endure or thrive among this group, given my own unique personality. Yet, I quickly realized that I belonged here, surrounded by individuals who impressed me greatly and with whom I formed connections easily.

However, they were entertainers, vocalists, artists who danced and joked. At times, I found myself pondering, “What could I possibly contribute?

‘But obviously people enjoyed her and wanted me to stay in there longer and see a bit more of me.’

Inquired about her methods for handling the lack of comforts within the camp, Coleen responded by drawing a comparison to her past experience of cleaning apartments at Pontins during her youthful years.

To Daily Mail, she commented: “Although I enjoy life’s comforts, I’m not a royalty type. My fellow campers seemed taken aback that I took living outside so calmly.

When I was younger, instead of spending much time camping, I was responsible for cleaning the apartments at a Pontins holiday park.

She adds: ‘Going to the dunny [camp lavatory] doesn’t bother me, I’ve gone behind a tree before. I don’t mind getting my hands dirty, I’ve got four boys, we’ve been in situations where we’ve got dirty.

“I visit places like ponds and muddy paths. Nothing about it bothered me, and with all my belongings, I could’ve easily spent several weeks or more there.

In essence, Colleen often handles various tasks as a compensatory measure since she isn’t able to care for her sons directly. In her own words, “It’s simply part of my everyday routine to tidy up and keep things moving.

Option A: If I don’t take care of it, there’s a chance it won’t get completed at all. It was tough to let others handle tasks they were responsible for. There were instances where people took an excessive amount of time to finish their tasks. I yearned to step in and help, but we faced consequences when we did so.

After emerging from the forest, she promptly called her husband on FaceTime. “I’m so proud of you,” he told her.

In the letter he penned to me while we were both at camp, he expressed that he has never felt such longing for me as he does currently.

It seems clear to me why this might be hard for you – it’s been so long since we last talked in person due to our extended separation. Typically, we communicate multiple times a day via various means, including phone calls and video chats. The absence of such regular interaction has proven challenging.

Instead of leaving the UK, Wayne chose to stay there to oversee his football team, Plymouth Argyle, based in Devon. Meanwhile, their older sons, Kai aged 15, and Klay who is 11, continued living at home as well.

It proved more challenging for them to leave school since they are mature adults, making their return a more significant commitment. In light of this, we chose to maintain them within the educational environment.

However, it was mentioned that they wouldn’t be attending school the next day due to their mother participating in a final event. I’m unsure how the school will respond to this absence. Given the long journey to Australia, they might indeed warrant a day off.

‘The little ones, it’s easier. They’ve brought work away with them.’
