There isn’t a new episode of Accused on tonight (and there’s more bad news)
As a seasoned gamer of both the virtual and real-world crime dramas, I must say, the news about the abrupt ending of “Accused” season 2 has left me with a sense of dismay and disappointment that’s not unlike the feeling when you realize you’ve just lost your hard-earned high score.
Unfortunately, there won’t be a new episode of Accused airing tonight, specifically December 10th.
Last week, we had two crime drama episodes that concluded the second season. Moving on, this coming week, FOX is airing fresh episodes of the holiday specials for LEGO Masters.
Accused season 2 has come to an end
Unlike some shows that are merely taking a break mid-series, Accused has concluded its second season. Regrettably, this season was noticeably shorter than the first one, with only about half of the episodes compared to the initial run.
Additionally, not all episodes were particularly strong. Some truly memorable ones include “Val’s Tale” and “Justin’s Journey.” Unfortunately, others fell short or felt odd, such as the final episode titled “Megan’s Chronicle.
Will there be a third season of Accused?
Indeed, as one chapter concludes, anticipation turns towards the potential continuation of the show. What are the odds that “Accused” will return for a third season on FOX? Might we look forward to more episodes?
As a gamer, I’m keeping my fingers crossed because FOX hasn’t made a decision yet regarding the future of this series. It’s a bit of a rollercoaster right now, but I’ve got my hopes up since uncertainty can sometimes lead to good things. However, I must admit that I’ve been worried due to the noticeable decline in viewership from the first season and the relatively low ratings for linear broadcasts. Let’s keep our fingers crossed for a positive update!
Based on TV Series Finale reports, the viewership ratings for season 2 of “Accused” decreased by 64% among the key demographic and 31% in overall viewers compared to its first season. This substantial drop is cause for concern, suggesting that the extended wait for new episodes may not have been beneficial. Fox will likely be worried, considering the series currently ranks as their lowest rated show in the key demographic and second from the bottom in total audience, with “Bob’s Burgers” ahead due to its strong demo performance.
With this in mind, I think we need to be prepared for cancellation.
Accused is available to stream on Hulu.
