As a gamer who’s seen more plot twists than a rollercoaster, I can’t help but feel a sense of anticipation, tinged with nostalgia, at the sight of these Gavin & Stacey photos. After all, who doesn’t love a good reunion? Five years off screen feels like an eternity for these beloved characters.
The BBC has shared new photos of the upcoming Gavin & Stacey Christmas special.
In five years, the Shipman and West families will be back on your TV screens for a special holiday episode, which is scheduled to air on BBC One on Christmas Day, starting at 9 pm.
In the recently released images, viewers spot Gavin, Stacey, Nessa, and Smithy laughing alongside Gwen, Jason, and Uncle Bryn at an apparent holiday celebration happening at Pam and Mick’s residence in Billericay, Essex.
As a devoted fan, I can’t help but marvel at the moments captured in these scenes. In one instance, it’s Nessa (Ruth Jones) and Stacey (Joanna Page) gracefully dancing back-to-back right in Pam and Mick’s living room, creating a sight to behold. On another occasion, Smithy (James Corden) is seen rolling with laughter on the sofa, sharing the moment with Gavin (Mathew Horne), Nessa, and Jason (Robert Wilfort).
It appears that the West family has decided to spend their Christmas in Essex instead of with Barry. For their travel, they are utilizing Uncle Bryn’s trusty Citroën C4 Picasso. (Rob Brydon is playing the role of Uncle Bryn)
In the upcoming road trip, it will be Gavin who’s coming along. Following the end of series three, Gavin landed a new job in Cardiff, which is why Stacey and their expanding family are moving to Wales at that point.
Here in Barry, Bryn is preparing the Picasso for a journey to Essex; Stacey and Gavin are seeking fresh ideas to reinvigorate their seventeen-year-long marriage, while Gwen’s behavior lately has been quite peculiar. This serves as the intriguing summary of the upcoming episode.
At the same time, Nessa embarks on a fresh entrepreneurial journey, while Neil the Baby prepares to start an apprenticeship with his father.
A fresh image of Alison Steadman depicts a harried Pam, burdened with responsibilities as she plays the role of hostess during this year’s events. It’s no wonder that her predicament is worsened by Mick, now retired, honing his golf strokes within the living room.
It seems that Pam might get the opportunity to relax and enjoy herself during the festivities, as she dances with Bryn and even takes part in what appears to be a ‘limbo’ contest.
