Eugene Mirman of ‘Bob’s Burgers’ ‘thankful beyond words’ and ‘doing relatively alright’ after fiery crash

Eugene Mirman appears to be in good spirits after being injured in a fiery car crash.

Comedian and actor H. Jon Benjamin posted on Instagram Friday to let fans know he’s recovering after a serious car accident. He said he’s “doing relatively alright, all things considered.” On Tuesday, Benjamin was hospitalized with injuries after his car, a Lucid Gravity, crashed into the Bedford Toll Plaza in New Hampshire and caught fire, resulting in him being pulled from the vehicle.

Mirman shared that he’s incredibly grateful to the people who rescued him from his car and to the wonderful hospital staff who helped him recover. He expressed being deeply thankful to be alive and doing well, considering the circumstances, and posted a photo of himself bandaged up alongside a piece of art saying, “Life is an Adventure.”

Eugene Mirman, the comedian and voice of Gene from ‘Bob’s Burgers,’ was rescued from a car accident and is currently hospitalized with significant injuries.

He expressed gratitude to everyone who sent supportive messages, love, and well wishes. Despite appearing slightly injured in the photo, he still managed to add a touch of humor to his post.

He explained he hadn’t been online much because he didn’t have his phone. He jokingly advised against his way of reducing screen time, and admitted it was difficult to resist responding to supportive messages with offers to appear on podcasts. He ended by expressing his love and wishing everyone well.

Before paramedics arrived, New Hampshire Governor Kelly Ayotte and her security team were among those who assisted Mirman.

Kelly Ayotte expressed her gratitude Tuesday on X to the State Trooper assigned to her security and the people who helped after the car crash, praising their courageous actions that saved lives. She and her husband, Joe, are wishing the injured driver a full and speedy recovery.
