The Block’s Scott Cam hits out at AI deep fakes using his image to sell weight loss products: ‘That is not me’

The Block's Scott Cam hits out at AI deep fakes using his image to sell weight loss products: 'That is not me'

As a dedicated follower of Scott Cam for over a decade, I have witnessed his remarkable journey from a skilled tradesman to a beloved television personality. The man embodies resilience and determination, qualities that are evident in every project he takes on, be it building a house or hosting one of Australia’s most popular reality shows.

Scott Cam has warned his fans that fake advertisements are using his image.

The Block host posted to Instagram to complain that AI deepfakes were pretending to be him while shilling weight loss products

He mentioned that he found out about some fake videos featuring him, which endorse weight loss products.

‘That is not me! Do not purchase anything you see online like this’ Scott went on.

He added, joking: ‘I am here to tell you that Christmas time is not the time I will be losing weight’.

Scott rang in his 62nd birthday in style last month.

On Sundays, the person who manages The Block took the time off work to celebrate their special day with loved ones in a peaceful, countryside environment.

On Instagram, the TV personality was seen enjoying rides on ATVs (All-Terrain Vehicles) in the wilderness with dear ones.

Further images showed a classic Aussie BBQ loaded up with bacon for an al fresco breakfast.

‘Had a beautiful birthday weekend with all my family In the bush,’ he explained in his caption.

Reports suggest that after 14 years, Scott has decided to put down his tool belt and step away from hosting The Block for retirement.

The television presenter, who assumed hosting duties from Jamie Durie in 2010 during the third season of the show, has reportedly grown weary of the contestants more recently.

According to Woman’s Day, Scott has decided to retire by 2025, but according to Nine, this is not accurate information.

As a die-hard enthusiast, I can’t help but share some intriguing rumors that have been circulating about our beloved Scott. During the filming of season 20, an insider claims that he hinted at his retirement, mentioning that he was only committed “this year and next” to the show. The anticipation is palpable!

According to them, when Jesse Maguire and Paige Beechey left the show unexpectedly during the current season, it took him by surprise and further strengthened his resolve to depart in 2025.

Scott cherishes The Block deeply, finding it hard to fathom why someone would forsake their successful series and the intense choice they made.

‘It reinforced to him the idea of leaving on a high next year to spend more time with his family.’

As a dedicated follower, I recall whispers that surfaced in the year 2023 hinting at Scott’s imminent retirement. However, these rumors were swiftly put to rest when he was bound to a fresh contract by Nine.

Instead, it’s reported that the agreement pertains to a span of just two years. This means Scott will continue in his hosting role for the 2024 20th anniversary season and also the 2025 Daylesford season.

As a devoted follower, I’ve learned that Scott’s departure from the renovation show was strategically planned as part of an impressive scheme. The final seasons he led were not only exceptionally captivating but also presented him with two uniquely tough and intriguing challenges.

Initially, the plan was to shoot The Block in Daylesford this year; however, delays in obtaining necessary permits from the local council have necessitated a shift of the renovation project to next year.

At the eleventh hour, producers hurriedly acquired an outdated beach resort situated on Philip Island, spending a massive $9.5 million on rebranding it as Island Cove Villas.

The tipster mentioned that Scott felt deeply disheartened when Daylesford was delayed, as he had desired to organize that particular season and subsequently depart with grace.

Yet again, Nine has silenced the speculations by confirming that Scott Cam has no intention of leaving The Block, as stated to Daily Mail Australia on Monday.

The Block host Scott addressed rumours of his impending retirement from Nine’s hit renovation show to Daily Mail Australia as recently as last year.

At a soiree marking the debut of his 2023 television series, the former construction worker-turned-TV personality shared with the audience that he intends to stick around for quite some time.

Approximately two months back, I sealed a long-term contract with the Nine Network. Making this choice was effortless because I have a deep affection for this program and couldn’t envision myself being part of any other.’ – He expressed this sentiment.

Later on, Scott mentioned that he didn’t have any imminent retirement plans at present, but as for the time when he eventually retires in the far-off future, there was someone he considered ideal for assuming the role of host.

He thinks that only Shelley Craft, his current co-host, has the ability to do it, and that’s correct.

Shelley, aged 48, expressed confidence that nobody else would be more capable than herself when it’s eventually time to step into leadership.

‘That’s my job, isn’t it? Don’t I step up and then I get a sidekick?’ she joked.

2022 saw Scott reiterating rumors regarding his role on the show once more. He shared with Daily Mail Australia that construction sites will keep him busy for many years ahead.

For over forty years, this skilled craftsman has been working tirelessly in his trade, and for the last fourteen years, he’s graciously hosted The Block show. It doesn’t appear that he plans on slowing down anytime in the near future.

He shared with Daily Mail Australia that this year marks his 60th birthday, and due to mold caused by excessive rain, he is currently engaged in a home renovation project to ensure his physical well-being remains optimal.

‘For at least the next ten years, I’ll be working hard. I shared with my wife that we have around two decades of good health ahead, starting from January 1st, let’s embark on a 20-year journey of living to the fullest.’

I plan to continue as long as I have the strength, because I enjoy it so much. I believe I could work for about 20 more years with these tools, and I’ll stop when my body signals it’s time.
