The life experiences of Alexandra Merrett, the pregnant wife of Bombers captain Zach Merrett, have taken a dramatic turn last week when she received an unexpected style compliment from none other than Hollywood royalty – Sofia Richie Grainge!
Last week, AFL WAG Alexandra Merrett was taken aback when she learned that Hollywood royalty Sofia Richie Grainge had endorsed her fashion sense.
The expectant spouse of Zach Merrett, the Bombers’ captain and soon-to-be father, recently posted on TikTok seeking opinions for the appropriate attire at her upcoming baby shower.
Instead of finding her followers helping her select an outfit, Alexandra was astonished to receive a compliment from Nicole Richie, who is the daughter of Lionel Richie and 26 years old.
For the very first time, a new mother initially posted a video of her searching for an ideal ensemble to don on her special occasion.
Inside a stylish Melbourne boutique’s dressing room, Alexandra showcased an exquisite pink maxi dress adorned with flowers.
The brunette beauty captioned the video with: ‘Is this too extra for my baby shower?’
While perusing numerous comments sent to her, Alexandra was taken aback to see Sofia mentioned in her alerts.
‘I loved it,’ the model, who welcomed daughter Eloise in May, commented on the Australian’s video.
“When Sofia Richie Grainge tells you she adores your dress in the morning.
With a surprised gasp, Alexandra placed her hand over her mouth. In the caption, she wrote: ‘When Sofia Richie Grainge expresses love for it, you purchase it.’
Earlier this year, Alexandra gained media attention by responding firmly to mean-spirited critics who ridiculed AFL WAGs as they walked the red carpet during the Brownlow Medal event.
The mum-to-bet, who is pregnant with her first child, took to TikTok in August to explain the process behind putting together a look for football’s night of nights.
In a video taken in her car, the WAG gave her followers an insider’s perspective on the event.
‘For those who don’t know, every single year, I think five or six players get invited,’ she said.
The WAG explained that only if you’re the team captain or have already won a Brownlow Medal beforehand, will you learn about it, and this information is typically kept secret until the end of the regular season (home and away).
As Alexandra, about to debut my luggage brand soon, I felt compelled to address critics of ladies gracing the Brownlow red carpet with their presence.
“I find it intriguing how people can be unkind about each other’s appearances during events like these, given that many of the women only have two weeks to put together their entire outfits.
In another part of the video, the mother-to-be mentioned that she delayed creating her unique dress for the September event due to her growing pregnancy belly.
The stunning woman with dark hair was teaming up with stylist Maggie Smith and fashion designer Sonia Cappellazzo, brainstorming different outfits that would suit her growing bump.
She mentioned that usually she is quite organized, but given her expanding belly, they decided to take things slow and observe how her body adjusts over time.
Zach and Alexandra announced they were pregnant with their first child just two weeks earlier.
Taking to our shared Instagram platform, my partner and I proudly unveiled a series of captivating black-and-white snapshots, highlighting my growing baby bump – a testament to the miracle that’s unfolding within us.
Zach donned a black tee shirt and white trousers, contrasting with his wife who sported denim jeans and a belly-baring top that highlighted her expanding belly.
In another photo, the WAG posed in a sheer lace gown that revealed her changing figure.
The couple were all smiles as they made the announcement, writing in the caption: ‘Baby Merrett, we’ve been waiting for you.’
