Eric Murphy, son of “The Nutty Professor” actor Murphy, and Jasmin Lawrence, daughter of “Bad Boys” comedian Lawrence, have announced their plans to marry, as they shared on Saturday. In an Instagram post, they expressed that their love feels like it was ordained by destiny, as they captioned a video of their engagement.
They expressed immense anticipation for what’s coming next,” they stated. In the video, Eric escorts Jasmin into a beautifully decorated room filled with tall candelabras, petals of various flowers strewn on the floor, bouquets of red roses, and a large framed heart on the wall. Eric, dressed in a black suit, then drops to one knee and proposes. Afterward, they both, with Eric in a formal black suit and Jasmin in a fitting black dress, pose for photographs.
3 years after publicly confirming their relationship on Instagram in June 2021, Jasmin, aged 28, and Eric, aged 35, revealed their engagement. Back then, Eric expressed he was deeply smitten, “head over heels in love” with his future bride. A month later, Jasmin marked her partner’s birthday on Instagram, expressing her gratitude for knowing him, loving him, and having him by her side.

He even suggested that their children could produce a “super-funny offspring.” When Jimmy asked about a possible wedding, Martin joked that he’d try to convince Eddie to foot the bill.
Murphy, having married his longtime partner, model Paige Butcher in July, flipped the concept back on Lawrence. In an interview with Canada’s Etalk in 2023, he stated that it is actually the groom’s father (Martin) who should bear the costs of the wedding ceremony.
“If it goes down, Martin is paying,” he said. “And the wedding better be wonderful.”
