Bob Dylan trusts Timothée Chalamet will be ‘completely believable’ as the singer in his biopic

As a movie enthusiast who has spent countless hours immersed in the timeless melodies of Bob Dylan and the captivating performances of Timothée Chalamet, I can hardly contain my excitement for the upcoming biopic “A Complete Unknown.” Having lived through the revolutionary era of folk music, I vividly remember the electrifying energy that swept across America as Dylan redefined the genre.

Bob Dylan has declared himself a Timothée Chalamet fan.

On Wednesday, the singer who is famously known for “Like a Rolling Stone,” voiced his support for the Oscar-nominated actor’s role as the lead in the upcoming biopic “A Complete Unknown.” This film tells the story of Bob Dylan’s rise to fame during the 1960s in New York City. Just weeks before its December 25 release, the folk legend has given his seal of approval for the project.

Music

This album, now part of the Bootleg Series collection, signifies the start of a third phase in Bob Dylan’s career which continues to unfold until this day.

In his recent post, Dylan mentioned that a film titled “A Complete Unknown” (such an intriguing name!) is about to be released, where he praised Timothée Chalamet as a talented actor who will convincingly portray him, or a younger version of him, or even another character reminiscent of him.

Afterward, he motivated fans to check out the book that served as inspiration for the movie directed by James Mangold: “Dylan Goes Electric,” written by Elijah Wald and published in 2015.

The day after, Chalamet shared Dylan’s endorsement with a comment expressing his amazement at the renowned songwriter’s backing, stating that he was “overwhelmed” by it.

He expressed his heartfelt appreciation and thanked Bob. Not long after, the actor verified through a different post that he had completed filming Josh Safdie’s ‘Marty Supreme,’ a story loosely based on Marty Reisman, a renowned table tennis player. Chalamet added that he was traveling to Minnesota, and Mangold responded, “Congratulations friend! I’ll see you soon!

Entertainment & Arts

Director James Mangold discusses his upcoming action movie with Mark Olsen, while sharing his thoughts on recent statements made by Martin Scorsese concerning Marvel films.

On Wednesday, Dylan publicly discussed the movie for the first time, a film that was originally announced as “Going Electric” in early 2020. While making the movie “A Complete Unknown,” Dylan frequently provided feedback on the script to director Mangold, as Chalamet revealed to Rolling Stone last month.

Apparently, Jim Mangold has a marked-up copy of the ‘Bob’ script somewhere,” Chalamet said in an interview. “I plan to ask him for it, but I don’t think he’ll ever let me have it.

Movies

Regardless if they aim for an Elvis-like tone, a more soulful Judy, the raspy Dylan, or simply a polished version of their own voice, celebrities seek assistance from Eric Vetro in achieving their desired sound. Here’s a glimpse into his methods.

Last Monday evening in the heart of New York City, I had the immense pleasure of being recognized among other esteemed individuals at the Gotham Awards. This prestigious event celebrates independent films, bestowed upon us by the Gotham Film & Media Institute. I was humbled to receive the Visionary Tribute for my role in a movie that features an exceptional ensemble cast, including Monica Barbaro as Joan Baez, Elle Fanning as Sylvie Russo, and Edward Norton as Pete Seeger, to name just a few of the talented artists involved.

Chalamet expressed his gratitude towards everyone involved in the project during his acceptance speech. He mentioned that delving into the realm of Bob Dylan for study and immersion was the best education a budding artist like himself could possibly get.

Starting from December 18th, some IMAX theaters will host pre-release screenings of the upcoming film before it goes nationwide on Christmas Day.
