Kendrick Lamar and SZA set Grand National tour with two stops at Inglewood’s SoFi
As a seasoned music critic who has witnessed the evolution of hip-hop and R&B over the past three decades, I must say that Kendrick Lamar’s latest album “GNX” is nothing short of extraordinary. His ability to channel raw emotions and confront social issues through his artistry sets him apart from the pack.
2025 looks set to be a bustling year for Kendrick Lamar, as he’s just confirmed a tour with SZA, adding another engagement to his schedule.
Collaborators from the “All the Stars” project have come together for Kendrick Lamar’s latest album, “GNX”, and announced their Grand National tour on Tuesday. The first performance of the Luther duo’s tour will take place in Minneapolis on April 19, and it will include two shows in Los Angeles, where Kendrick Lamar hails from, as well as a concert in St. Louis, which is SZA’s hometown.
As a die-hard fan, I’m thrilled to announce that Lamar and SZA have got two shows lined up for me at Inglewood’s SoFi Stadium on May 21st and 23rd. The duo is also set to rock Oracle Park in San Francisco on May 29th, and they’ll be taking the stage at St. Louis’ Dome at America’s Center on June 4th, as part of their 19-city tour! I can hardly wait!

A few months ago, the Compton rapper Siete7x was up in the Bay Area shooting a music video.
Lamar’s comeback in Inglewood signifies another triumphant tour following his musical rivalry with Drake this year. Known for his humility, Lamar will perform at SoFi Stadium next year, marking a year since he released “Not Like Us,” the biting diss track that led fans to deem him the victor in their auditory dispute.
Previously, Lamar staged a “Pop Out” event for Juneteenth at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, and he performed “Not Like Us” on six separate occasions during the celebration.
In a chat held in October, the Pulitzer Prize laureate shared with SZA that the Grammy-nominated track “Not Like Us,” produced by DJ Mustard, embodies his essence and the kind of person he symbolizes. According to Lamar, this song portrays a man who upholds strong moral values.

Unexpectedly, the latest album from the Compton rapper was released last Friday amidst his high-profile dispute with Drake.
He holds strong convictions, stands firm on them, and isn’t swayed by popular opinion. He’s not just going along with trends. This man is authentic – he admits his errors, learns from them, and can delve into personal fears or past experiences to articulate his thoughts without feeling emasculated.
In a recent article by The Times’ August Brown, he stated that while “Not Like Us” may not appear on Lamar’s latest album, it is difficult to argue against his status as the greatest rapper alive based on the 12 tracks released in the surprise drop of “GNX.
SZA, who finished her “SOS” tour in May, contributes her voice to various tracks on “GNX.” In the song “Luther,” she harmonizes with Lamar about unselfish love, and in the album’s final track “Gloria,” she adds emotive vocals to the rapper’s tribute to writing.
Besides SZA, Lamar’s “GNX” track additionally includes Mariachi singer Deyra Barrera, along with several rising stars from Los Angeles such as Dody6, Lefty Gunplay, Wallie the Sensei, and AzChike.

Kendrick Lamar discloses that his hit single ‘Not Like Us’ from the summer has layers beyond the public spat with Drake during their rap disagreement earlier this year.
According to Mikael Wood’s critique from The Times, Lamar’s art continues to be fueled by indignation, and his writing and rapping on ‘GNX’ are as sharp as his previous diss tracks that were released rapidly against Drake, barely allowing Drake a moment to respond during the spring.
A few days following the release of “GNX”, Drake retaliated with two legal documents. These filings alleged that their joint record label, Universal Music Group, had favored the promotion of “Not Like Us” over Drake’s own work and hinted at a possible defamation lawsuit.
After the Grand National tour, Lamar will make a solo appearance on the Super Bowl stage in February. Previously, he performed alongside artists such as Dr. Dre, Mary J. Blige, Eminem, Snoop Dogg, 50 Cent, and Anderson .Paak at the Super Bowl in 2022. The upcoming Super Bowl LIX is set for Feb. 9 at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans and will be broadcast on Fox.
Lamar and SZA’s Grand National tour will end on June 18th at Washington D.C.’s Northwest Stadium. Pre-sale for tickets starts on Wednesday at 10 a.m., local time, and general sale begins on Friday at the same time. You can find all the tour dates on their official website.
