Rapunzel: Pure Grace Review and GuideRapunzel: Pure Grace Review and Guide

Overview

  • Decent Burst I for newbies/early game
  • Has decent self healing and shielding, not providing either for the team
  • Buffs Attack Damage of allies when manually played and on Burst
  • In most scenarios, she will not be used if the Commander already has a Burst 1 CDR
  • Bad burst generation as she needs to maintain Full Charge for her Skills

Newbie/Incomplete Box Section

As a seasoned gamer and strategist with years of experience under my belt, I must say that Rapunzel: Pure Grace is a unique addition to any team. She’s like the protective older sister, always ready to shield her comrades while keeping up the spirits with her self-healing abilities.

As a gamer, I’d say: “Rapunzel: Pure Grace is a good choice for beginners in the Commanders lineup thanks to her self-sustaining abilities and attack damage boosts. However, beyond these buffs, she doesn’t offer much for the team since her burst generation isn’t high, and her shielding, healing, and maximum health increase are all self-beneficial. It’s best to swap her out with a Burst I CDR Commander as soon as possible.

Basic Information

Normal ATK information

Rapunzel’s standard Sniper Rifle character, called Pure Grace, shares the same burst rate as Red Hood and Rouge. Because she can fully charge and hold shots, it’s best not to spam shoot unless you want to bypass her Skill 1 and Skill 2 boosts.

Skills

Rapunzel: Pure Grace Review and Guide

Skill 1: Sanctuary

■ Triggers at the beginning of a fight, benefits self.

Rapunzel initiates combat by establishing a sturdy, long-lasting Barrier around herself. This shield automatically regenerates when she attacks and can be reactivated using her special ability. If she maintains her maximum charge for more than one second while the barrier is active, she boosts the attack power of her teammates for as long as she continues to hold the charge.

Skill 2: Pray

1) When using a Full Charge attack, this ability triggers and benefits the user. It restores 2% of the user’s total maximum health.

Using a Full Charge Attack restores some of Rapunzel’s health. This is beneficial since staying in Full Charge for more than one second helps sustain her Skill 1 buff. However, remaining in Full Charge continuously decreases her own HP by 2% every second while also replenishing the Shield HP provided by Skill 1. If Rapunzel’s health gets too low to maintain the Full Charge status, she can still use a Full Charge Attack to recover her health.

Burst: Garden of Utopia

■ Affects self.
Max HP ▲ 10.13% for 10 sec.
■ Affects all allies.
Attack Damage ▲ 15.24% for 10 sec.

A straightforward health boost: It raises its maximum health level while restoring health to itself, and simultaneously enhances the attack damage of all nearby allies.

Why Attack Damage is strong in Campaign, vs Damage taken Debuff

In the Campaign, the Attack Damage increases significantly as it amplifies the attack buffs (ATK boosts) and maintains its effect across multiple waves since it’s applied to the Nikkes, not the Raptures. Many high-tier DPS characters possess a substantial ATK boost during their special abilities or bursts.

This buff resembles the effect of damage-taken debuffs, but it sets itself apart by persisting throughout all Rapture waves present. Notably, most high-performance DPS characters can eliminate multiple Rapture wave sequences with a single burst (such as Red Hood, Alice, Modernia, Emilia, A2, and so on).

Campaign

For those finding themselves with Dolla teams, Pure Grace could be a suitable selection. In contrast, Commanders may find it more beneficial to opt for any Burst I CDR along with a screen protector or enhancer in the Burst II slot.

Generalist team

As a dedicated gamer, it’s essential to include Burst generators like Alice, Red Hood, and so on in the Burst III slot, as opposed to Rapunzel: Pure Grace, because they excel at dealing high damage. These generators significantly enhance gameplay for commanders who may not have them, especially when using Dolla teams, making gameplay more enjoyable all around.

Arena

Rapunzel: Pure Grace isn’t particularly effective in Player versus Player (PvP) scenarios because she needs to maintain Full Charge for over a second, which is challenging. Instead, her shielding ability can help prolong her survival. Her burst generation is comparable to Red Hood, so she doesn’t excel as a battery character.

Special Interception | Solo Raid | Union Raid

Pure Grace isn’t ideal for high-level raids because she lacks the offensive buffs that are common among top-tier Burst II characters. However, she can work well for commanders who don’t have a complete Nikke roster, as she can be tanky and self-sustaining enough to handle most bosses. The downside is that she requires a specific Burst II Character CD (Cooldown), which at the moment are only Dolla and Helm: Aquamarine. While these characters aren’t poor choices, they typically offer oppressive offensive buffs, which Rapunzel: Pure Grace teams may not provide enough of. Since Rapunzel: Pure Grace is a tank/buffer, she doesn’t excel in specific teams; instead, she can be used to add sustain where it’s needed.
