As I read through this article, my heart goes out to Fearne Cotton and her ongoing health journey. It’s truly inspiring to see how she faces each challenge with courage and resilience. Her experiences serve as a reminder that life often throws us curveballs, but it is our response to these challenges that defines us.

I’ve been deeply touched by an overwhelming tide of kindness and support, following my recent announcement about undergoing immediate surgery due to the discovery of two tumors on my jawline.

On a recent Instagram post shared on Tuesday evening, the 43-year-old television host disclosed that medical professionals have informed her that the ‘increasing’ lumps are non-cancerous.

Her supporters and renowned acquaintances quickly filled the comment section with messages of affection and good wishes.

Fearne’s news arrives mere weeks following the disclosure by her friend Davina McCall, aged 57, that she too needed surgery upon finding a highly unusual brain tumor.

Previously on Celebrity Juice, its ex-leader openly praised Davina for being an incredible pillar of strength when the speaker found tumors within herself. She referred to Davina as a shining symbol of optimism.

In my eagerness, I swiftly found myself among the initial wave responding to Fearne’s post. My message read: “Sending you an abundance of healing and love; I eagerly look forward to giving you a comforting, tender hug.

As her well-known friends quickly expressed their backing, radio host Zoe Ball exclaimed affectionately, “You’re so courageous, dear! Remember, you’ll be taken care of. Lots of love to you x.

Similarly, fellow radio host Lauren Laverne said, “Great job taking care of yourself! Wishing you a swift and complete recovery, and sending you loads of affection. You’ll be fine in no time. Best wishes, xx

Kate Lawler, a former contestant on Big Brother, posted: “Sending you tons of affection, Fearne. I hope we’ll see you back online soon. Get some rest and take care. Lots of warm hugs to you!

Sophie Ellis Bextor, the singer, expressed her thoughts as follows: ‘Take care, beautiful woman. Sending you a pile of affection xxx.’ Meanwhile, Perrie Edwards from Little Mix simply said: ‘Sending you plenty of love! ❤️’

As a devoted admirer, I’d like to echo Minnie Driver’s sentiments: I adore you, Fearne. Sending you an abundance of love. And in harmony with John Bishop, may your recovery progress smoothly and healthily. ❤️

Harry Styles’ mother Anne Twist commented: ‘Take all the time you need Fearne. Sending lots of love xxx’ and Lisa Snowdon said: ‘Sending love and well wishes beautiful ❤️❤️‍’.

Gabby Logan and singer Beverley Knight both expressed: “Sending you a heap of affection.” or “Expressing a lot of love to you.

Nicki Chapman, who underwent surgery to remove a non-cancerous brain tumor in 2019, expressed: ‘Sending tons of love xxxx’ (informal)

In a characteristically humorous manner, Dawn French replied with her usual charm, saying: “If you need me to perform the operation itself, just ask! I can pick up the necessary tools on my drive and I already have the Ladybird book about the human body – so I’m all set. Best regards.

In the title of her video, Fearne mentioned: “Hi folks! I’ll be taking a break due to an upcoming surgery. I detected a lump beneath my ear on my jawline some time back, and this year I noticed it has been growing.

It seems that the growth is harmless, and there’s another tiny one found above it in the salivary gland. I feel optimistic about this situation and plan to use this time to relax and take things easy.

If you notice a lump, bump, or anything that seems unusual about your body, don’t hesitate to have it examined. I’m really thankful I did, because delaying can make issues more complex over time.

It’s quite bizarre how just a few months back, Davina shared her tumor experience with me, and then, unexpectedly, I found myself in the same situation, discovering my own. Yet, I feel more than fortunate that she’s not only an incredible friend but also a source of inspiration and positivity when facing such challenges.

‘Sending you all loads of love and I’ll see you soon.’

In the video, Fearne pointed out the locations of the tumors, allaying concerns among her followers by expressing that she was “in a great mood and healthy,” however, she mentioned that she’d be taking some time offline to rest after her surgery.

She mentioned that she will carry on with her well-known podcast, The Happy Place, as usual, having many episodes already recorded in advance.

Greetings all! Wishing you well. I wanted to pop in and let you know that my online presence might be a bit sparse over the upcoming fortnight or so, as I’m scheduled for an operation.

I have two small, benign growths – one located near the lower part of my jaw, close to my ear, and another one higher up, above that area. Although it’s reassuring they’re benign, due to their proximity to a nerve, medical removal is necessary.

“I’ll be having the surgery and recovering prior to Christmas, though I find resting challenging. I’m a bit anxious about managing that, but overall, I’m optimistic about the situation. I feel great and in good health.

‘I plan to binge-watch plenty of TV shows when I get past this current situation. My podcast will continue as usual. I’ve pre-recorded several episodes, so they’ll keep coming your way, and we’ll catch up again soon.’

Last month, Davina shared that she underwent brain tumour surgery, after revealing she had a ‘very rare’ colloid cyst that affects only three in a million people.

The speaker shared that she unexpectedly got her diagnosis during a routine health check-up, informing her audience: “They invited me for a health assessment, which I believed I would pass with flying colors. However, it revealed an extremely uncommon benign brain tumor, occurring only about three times in a million cases.

For a short period, I chose to avoid facing certain issues, sought advice from several brain surgeons, gathered many perspectives, and eventually understood that ignoring them was not an option.

It’s rather large, measuring approximately 14 millimeters across, and it needs to be extracted as its further growth could cause problems. I’m planning to have it taken out.

She concluded her message: ‘Say a prayer for me. I’m in good spirits.’

Davina shared that although she wasn’t facing an imminent threat, her doctors expressed worry that the tumor might expand further and lead to potential complications.

She shared that her emotions had been fluctuating, and she clarified that she would need to stay at the hospital for a minimum of nine days prior to returning home.

A colloid cyst is usually a slowly expanding mass located close to the brain’s core, filled with jelly-like substance. These non-cancerous growths frequently show no symptoms and are discovered accidentally during diagnostic scans.

As a fervent admirer, I can’t help but share some insights about potential symptoms that might arise as a tumor progresses. In my experience, these symptoms are often reported by affected individuals. Upon waking in the morning, they may encounter particularly intense headaches, which could be a tell-tale sign. Additionally, they might struggle with nausea and experience blurry vision. Other notable indicators include feelings of dizziness (vertigo) and double vision.

Most patients present with headaches, although other symptoms including vertigo, memory problems and double vision can occur.

In larger sizes, a colloid cyst can block the flow of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) within the brain, potentially causing an increased risk of sudden and tragic death.

On Monday, Davina commended her surgeon, Kevin O’Neill, for his skillful execution of her operation. Initially, upon waking from the surgery, she felt quite bewildered, but now she is significantly improved.

Earlier, she posted a heartfelt video message from her bed, where her voice trembled with emotion as she expressed gratitude towards her loved ones for their unwavering support.

During her home recuperation, her partner Michael Douglas has been sharing updates as well. He mentioned following a highly emotional event, she is concentrating on getting plenty of rest.

Earlier, Davina openly discussed the challenges she’s encountering post-surgery, yet she emphasized that getting enough rest aids her recovery process.

She said: ‘Just a little update on here. I’m being brilliantly looked after by Michael and Gabby, my mum. And just to say I’m trying to sleep a lot and get better.

Day by day, I’m noticing a significant enhancement in my short-term memory. It’s become increasingly clear to me just how crucial a good night’s sleep is for my overall recovery and wellbeing.

If I find myself perplexed or having trouble focusing, I usually take a nap. Upon waking, I feel rejuvenated and revitalized. This is because my brain requires ample rest.

But rest assured, fans, as Michael reports that Davina is on the mend now, aiming to get back to work by mid-January.

More recently, Fearne commemorated her tenth wedding anniversary with her musician spouse, Jesse Wood (aged 48), in July. She first encountered Jesse, who is the son of Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood, during a night of festivities in Ibiza back in 2011.

As an overjoyed and devoted fan, I can’t help but share the wonderful news that this beloved couple has expanded their family! They welcomed a vibrant 11-year-old son named Rex and a lively nine-year-old daughter named Honey into their lives. But here’s the heartwarming twist – Fearne, our cherished star, is not just a mom to these two, but also a loving stepmom to Jesse’s wonderful children, Arthur, 22, and Lola, 19, from his previous marriage. What a beautiful blend of family they have created!

15-year-old she started her TV presenting journey back in 1996. She went on to play host roles for shows such as GMTV, CITV, and CBBC aimed at children.

In 2005, she moved on to work for Radio 1, and in 2007, she made history by becoming the first permanent female host of a BBC radio chart program.

Starting from 2009, Fearne succeeded Jo Whiley as the host of Radio 1’s daily mid-morning program, but she parted ways with the station in 2015, revealing at a later date that her decision was due to concerns about her mental wellbeing.
