The Division Resurgence is a third-person shooter RPG set in a shared open world with lots of missions and things to do. One key part of the game is the Dark Zone, where you can find valuable but dangerous loot and try to extract it safely. This guide will give you a detailed look at the Dark Zone mode, including some helpful tips to succeed.
The Division Resurgence Dark Zone: Overview
The Dark Zone returns with its classic blend of player-versus-player and player-versus-environment gameplay. You can venture in solo or with friends to find and take out powerful gear, but you’ll have to watch out for both enemy AI and other players while you try to escape with your loot.
But here’s what you need to know:
- Loot is stored in a separate Inventory bag with a limit of 9 items.
- You must extract the contaminated items before they become usable.
- The area is time-limited for up to 20 minutes due to contamination.
The Division Resurgence Extraction procedure and risks
Your primary goal is to collect items and get them out of the game. To do this, you’ll need to reach an Extraction Zone and signal for a helicopter. Once it arrives, you can attach your collected loot to the rope, climb aboard, and successfully complete the extraction to leave with your items.
But it is not that simple and easy as:
- If you’re eliminated, some of your loot will be dropped on the ground.
- Other players can steal your dropped items.
- They can also cut the extraction rope and take your loot.
If you’d prefer a more secure method, there’s another way to get your rewards. To do so, you’ll need to
- Find a Smuggling Ring Operative.
- They’re located at Dark Zone Safe Rooms.
- This works best if you want to avoid the crowded Extraction Zone and the risk of your loot being stolen.
Rogue system and PvP chaos
In the Dark Zone, players can become Rogue agents, which adds a lot of risk and excitement. Becoming Rogue lets you attack other players and steal their loot. Here’s an explanation of how it all works:
- You can manually turn Rogue by tapping on the button at the top of your screen.
- Cutting the extraction rope automatically turns you, Rogue.
- However, Rogue players are visible to others, and they can hunt you without going Rogue themselves.
The Division Resurgence rewards and progression
After each run, you earn special resources that help you progress further.
- Dark Zone Intel that you can exchange in the game mode for various benefits.
- Dark Zone Credits that you can use at the Dark Zone Vendor for exclusive rewards.
- You’ll also earn rewards like Skill Mods, Weapon or Gear, Character XP, Specialization XP, Currencies, Materials, and more.
Once you’ve recovered items from contaminated areas, they’ll be cleaned and sent to your in-game Stash. From there, you can pick them up at your Base of Operations or a Safe House and use them as usual. You can easily find your Stash location on the World map to help with travel.
