As a long-time fan of the Commandos series, I must admit that I was initially disappointed to hear about the delay of Commandos: Origins until March 2025. However, after reflecting on my experiences with previous titles and considering the developer’s commitment to refining the gameplay and addressing player feedback, I find myself growing increasingly excited for this strategic masterpiece.
According to reports, the release date for “Commandos: Origins,” developed by Claymore Studios under Kalypso Media, has been pushed back from its initial schedule. The new launch is expected to take place in March 2025.
The announcement states that this addition will enable the team to finesse the game, resulting in an incredibly captivating and well-crafted strategic encounter. Additionally, it offers Claymore a platform to tackle player feedback from the recent Closed Beta test and public demo – where the majority of Steam users provided favorable appraisals.
As per Studio Director Jürgen Reusswig’s statement, Claymore is now working diligently to fine-tune key aspects, aiming to provide players with a top-notch tactical gaming experience. They are concentrating on performance improvements to handle frame rate issues, developing more responsive AI for NPCs, and refining the control scheme as priority areas of development.
Further improvements to the game’s user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) will be made before its launch, along with high-quality voice-overs in English, German, French, Spanish, and Chinese. These new voice-overs will replace the temporary ones showcased in the demo version.
The game titled “Commandos: Origins” is set to debut on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC in March 2025. It will also be accessible immediately through Xbox Game Pass on its release day.
